🚨 BUYER BEWARE!!! 🚨
My wife and I want to share the horrible experience we just endured over the last three weeks with Camping World while attempting to purchase an almost new Jayco North Point 382FLRB.
We had been searching for the right camper for a long time, and this unit appeared to check every box at what seemed like a great price. We worked directly with salesman and GM, who assured us multiple times that the camper was in “immaculate condition” and “almost like new.”
The camper was initially located in South Carolina, and based on the representations made to us, including photos and videos, we agreed to put down a $1,500 deposit to cover the transportation costs to bring the unit to St. Augustine. We were specifically told this money would either be fully refundable or could later be applied toward the purchase if we chose to proceed.
Here’s where the games began.
Without our knowledge or authorization, the dealership applied our $1,500 transportation deposit directly toward the purchase as a down payment. When confronted, they claimed it was necessary to secure bank approval. That explanation made absolutely no sense considering we already had more than enough equity — over 10% — in our trade-in to satisfy lender requirements, along with excellent credit, low debt-to-income ratios, and sufficient income. We ultimately had to fight to get this deposit back after its use was misrepresented and not used for its intended purpose.
To us, this felt deceptive and dishonest.
After being reassured again that the camper had been inspected, cleaned, and was “ready to go,” my wife and I drove 3.5 hours through terrible weather while towing our trade-in camper behind us. Between diesel fuel, hotel costs, and meals, we spent hundreds of dollars making this trip.
When we arrived, we were shocked.
The camper was nowhere near the condition we had been promised. The entire camper was filthy. Dirt, dust, and red clay covered the exterior and interior. The seals were stained red, the flooring was stained, the furniture was dirty and stained, and multiple ceiling A/C vents and floor vents were broken. Several floor vents in the kitchen were so packed with dirt and debris that airflow was likely restricted.
Even worse, my wife found multiple signs of rodent droppings throughout the camper, along with rat bait placed in several locations.
We were immediately disgusted and completely turned off.
The salesman’s response was simply that he “didn’t realize it was this dirty,” despite previously telling us he personally inspected it and that it was immaculate. Just the day before, my wife had even texted to verify the camper was fully cleaned, prepped, and ready before we made the drive.
To make matters worse, throughout this entire process we were repeatedly told someone would follow up with us regarding pricing, discounts, financing, repairs, condition updates, or next steps. Almost every single time, days would pass without any communication, and my wife or I had to repeatedly reach out ourselves just to get answers or updates.
We feel like we were repeatedly misled throughout this process through inaccurate statements, poor communication, broken promises, and misrepresentations about the camper’s condition and financing process.
We are sharing this experience to warn anyone considering purchasing a camper from this location: please be careful, ask questions, get everything in writing, and do not blindly trust verbal assurances.
This entire experience cost us time, money, stress, and complete disappointment. Please be careful if you are considering doing business with this dealership.

WORST, WORST, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!!
UPDATE** these are pics of just some of the defects in the rv. The hinge snapped due to a put together fix so it would work until it snapped as you can see by the photos.
Quality workmanship at its best!! 🤣😅
UPDATE** still CAN NOT get hot water in my shower. So called suburban hot water on demand water does not work 🤔 maybe it isn’t hooked up properly. It takes 5-10 mins for hot water to hit my kitchen sink but never gets hot 🔥 in my shower. If and if is the correct word hot water does hit it last maybe 5 mins. All gas tanks are open and I get gas to the stove and oven. So it isn't that i do not have the gas on. Disgusted, disappointed, WORST, Experience and longest wait times to just come look at the problems/defective products.
UPDATE** DID SOME TESTS WITH THE HOT WATER SYSTEM YOU KNOW TURNING DIFFERNT SINKS ON AND OFF....I FOUND I CAN GET HOT WATER TO MY SHOWER AND BATHROOM SINK IF I HAVE HOT WATER RUNNING IN THE KITCHEN SINK...BUT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG THAT WORKS, I DIDN'T TRY TO TAKE A SHOWER. I HAD ALREADY TAKEN A COLD 🥶 SHOWER!!!!
This was my first RV and was excited to live in it FT, but not anymore this has been a bad experience from day 1. As soon as I signed the paperwork they threw me off a cliff. Since the day my 5th wheel arrived it has been nothing but trouble. Delivered Tue 4/21/26, fridge kept beeping, it is the door sensor, I called tech support about it, it is faulty have to push the button down when closing the door. (has to be fixed by a tech) Next at 3am Wed 4/22/26 the gfci outlet started tripping, even when nothing was plugged into it or any othee outlet. It wouldn't reset, after 3 days of the continuous noise and no help from tech support (bcoz they can't fix what is broken over the phone) I had to flip the breaker. To say the least I cannot use any of the outlets inside my RV. My main awning scrapes and rubs against my living area slide out. This is the same awning that had a missing end cap on the end of it. My delivery driver saw it and made sure they fixed it. (Thank God) they were actually going to send it to me that way. So I can't use my awning at all, it could break and cost more $$. Which is what Camping World and Forest River want you to do.
Forest River Headquarters says I need to bring it in to be fixed or have a mobile tech come out. Which in turn means money to be given to them. My sink in the bathroom leaked, because not one person could tighten them up. My refrigerator door sensor doesn't work. I have to push it down when I close the door. Yhe overhead cabinets will not stay up and open, instead they slam right back down into your hand, arm, whatever is in the way, that is dangerous. All the freaking stickers they put in here peels the paper covering on the panels right off. All this happened before it was here 24hrs. Now on day 7, 4/28/26 my ceiling fan stopped working no rhyme or reason just quit. This is just a piece of crap rv, Camping World and Forest River both know all about it. I have called Headquarters for both and nothing. They truly do not care. I am ready to pay someone to drop it off in their parking lot and leave it. I have pics and video of everything that is wrong with this RV. (except for the leak under the sink but I have witnesses for that purpose). Now that I have complained enough about this they are trying to make it right. But they can't I have gone a week w/o power outlets, unable to use my awnings. Fridge beeps unless I push the sensor button down, the ceiling fan quit, and the upper storage cabinets slam shut on you. Dangerous, so is the gfci outlet.
