I HAVE NEVER experienced something so HUMILIATING and OFFENSIVE at a business.
I have rented from this Enterprise location approximately five times this year and, until now, believed I had built a great rapport with the staff. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was so upsetting that I returned my three-day rental after only a matter of hours and canceled my weekend plans.
Before I was given my rental vehicle, I was walked outside by Manager Brandon and another rep. Brandon told me that the inside of the office smelled like marijuana and stated that he wasn’t sure whether I had marijuana in my purse or on my person. I was completely caught off guard. I do not smoke or use marijuana, and there was absolutely no basis for making that accusation toward me.
What made the situation even more humiliating was that this conversation occurred within earshot of others. I was so shocked by what was being said that I initially thought he was joking. I did not argue or cause a scene because I was genuinely trying to process why I was being singled out and accused of something I had nothing to do with.
To make matters worse, the vehicle class I had reserved online was not available. Instead, I was given a much larger vehicle than I was comfortable driving and was told to view it as a “free upgrade.” Because I had an obligation to attend by 6:00 p.m., I did not have time at that moment to fully address everything that had just occurred.
I ultimately decided that I was too uncomfortable and upset to continue with the rental. I returned the vehicle the following morning, cutting what was supposed to be a three-day rental down to only a matter of hours. The gentleman who assisted me with the return was accommodating and took the time to listen to my complaint, which I appreciated.
However, this situation goes far beyond simply expressing my frustration to someone at the local branch. Being accused of possessing or smelling like marijuana without any apparent basis was embarrassing, inappropriate, and unacceptable—especially as a repeat customer who had never caused an issue at this location.
I refuse to ever return to this location and am formally reporting this incident to Enterprise corporate and documenting my experience. I sincerely hope this matter is taken seriously and appropriately addressed.

An excellent location with incredible customer service, all thanks to the store manager here (Brandon). Brandon and his team went above and beyond to ensure a great rental experience, corporate should give him a promotion.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the customer service I received during my recent visit. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the manager who was working at the counter, but I was extremely disappointed by the way I and other Black customers were treated.
From my observation, customers were not being assisted in the order they arrived. It appeared that certain customers were being prioritized while Black customers were left waiting. The situation became even more concerning when I spoke up about the unequal treatment and my concerns were ignored.
Thankfully, two other staff members, Will and Johnny, stepped in and provided us with the assistance and professionalism we should have received from the beginning. I truly appreciate the way they handled the situation and made sure we were taken care of.
What was particularly disappointing was the manager’s response after realizing I had expressed concerns about his behavior. Rather than addressing the issue or assisting us, he walked away and began helping another customer. When I later returned my rental, he again did not acknowledge me, greet me, or ask whether I needed assistance.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with the same courtesy, respect, and level of service as every other customer, regardless of race or perceived financial status. I cannot speak to the manager’s intentions, but the pattern of service I personally observed made me feel that Black customers were being treated differently. That is unacceptable, especially from someone in a management position.
I am requesting that management review this incident and address my concerns appropriately. I also believe Will and Johnny deserve recognition for stepping in, remaining professional, and providing the customer service that was lacking at the counter.
I hope this complaint is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to ensure that every customer is treated fairly, respectfully, and in the order they arrive.

Horrible service. Horrible management. I was waiting in the lobby with workers walking around doing nothing not helping anyone. They actually joked about how they DON’T answer the phone! Which explains why I was on hold three separate times for 20+ minutes. After all of that I was told there was no cars available for me. After I made a reservation and drove an hour from my house. Ridiculous considering the “assistant GM” was there 😭 I get being behind but actively ignoring customers and joking about not answering the phone is crazy.
I was given a car with only 3/4 of a tank of gas. Returning to the area, I was running out of gas 23 miles from Enterprise. I had to pull off in an unfamiliar area at night to find a gas station. Pretty scary for a female in her 70's. Had I started with a full tank, I would have been able to get back to Enterprise and get my shuttle to the hotel. However, the detour for gas caused me to return later than expected and my shuttle back to the hotel was no longer available. Now I had to sit in an empty parking lot waiting for an Uber.
The next day Enterprise emailed my receipt. They noted that my car started with 3/4 tank of gas. In all my years of renting cars in the US (and outside the country) I've never left a rental agency with less than a full tank. The receipt also showed that I had returned the car with a half tank. I was charged over $6/gal for the fill up of the car. Average price in the area was around $3.68. Of all the explanations given to me about the car I was renting, not once was it mentioned about returning the car with a full tank, or returning it as is and having it filled at a higher cost by the rental agency. This is standard and has been my typical experience.
I called Enterprise the next morning and asked for credit for the gas I did put in, and explained the situation. Sorry, nothing we can do about it now was the response. Unacceptable.
