  **5 stars for the slender gentleman who went above and beyond to help me. 1 star for the store’s return-policy practice and the way it was communicated.** I understand that a business has the right to establish its own return policies, provided those policies comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws. My concern is not simply that the store has a policy; it is how that policy was communicated and represented to me. I purchased a car battery for more than $250. Before installing it, the battery remained on the store cart and was never installed, opened, or used. I then tested my vehicle’s existing battery, with assistance from a store employee using the store’s testing equipment, and found that my existing battery was working properly. Within approximately 30 minutes of purchasing the new battery, I decided I did not need it and requested a refund. Another store clerk refused the return and told me that **federal law prohibits the return of car batteries**. I then asked him to show me the law or written policy. He produced a printed notice located at the checkout kiosk, but it was not readily visible to customers because it was partially hidden between the computer screen and the merchandise display. In my opinion, if a no-return policy applies to an expensive item such as a $250+ battery, that policy should be clearly and conspicuously displayed where customers can easily see and read it before completing their purchase. The employee also stated that the policy was posted throughout the store. While I did see some posted notices, the print was so small that I could not reasonably read the details from approximately three feet away. Therefore, I would respectfully ask the company that owns or operates this establishment to answer one simple question for customers and the general public: **Is there actually any local, Florida state, or federal law that prohibits a customer from returning an unopened, unused, and uninstalled automobile battery approximately 30 minutes after purchase?** If such a law exists, please identify the specific statute or regulation. If no such law exists and this is instead a company or store policy, then it should be clearly described to customers as a **store policy**, rather than represented as a requirement of federal law. Clear disclosure would prevent unnecessary confusion and help customers make informed purchasing decisions.

  My radiator hose broke lose 2 blocks away from this store. Lucky odds. I had to buy the parts and tools and repair the assembly in the parking lot. The friendly and very helpful service from Miguel and Scottie finding me exactly what I needed was greatly appreciated!! They got me on the road and driving again right from the parking lot. Great store that's stocked with very helpful service. Thank you again!!
