- JTJoey TessoraAug 15, 20261.0Advance Auto Parts is a place I will never do business with because of there parking lot policy. Your willing to sell me brakes and rotors but won't allow me to install them in your parking lot. I rather shop at Autozone or O'reilly. At least these businesses valve me as a customer and appreciate me.
- TATed AriasJul 7, 20265.0Liz at the Poinciana Florida store #06464, 821 Town Center Drive, ordered us the relays for my Ford Expedition, we got them in less than 2 hours and then Liz helped us with a R134 Conversion kit. Liz is OUTSTANDING! Liz KNOWS HER STUFF!!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
