Over the next few days, my car struggled a bit when starting and just didn't seem as peppy as usual. My friends suggested having the battery checked, and one of my Plant City friends specifically recommended this store after having a great experience here himself. I stopped by on September 15, 2026, and had the pleasure of meeting Antoine Q. From the moment I arrived, Antoine was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He tested both my battery and starter and determined that my battery was on its last leg. In fact, I likely had only a handful of starts left before it would leave me stranded! Antoine helped me select the DieHard Gold battery with a 36-month free replacement warranty, which was a great fit for my vehicle. He also installed it promptly and efficiently, bringing my car right back to its happy, purring self! 😊 What impressed me most wasn't just Antoine's professionalism and efficiency, but his genuine kindness and willingness to help. He reminded me of what makes a community like Plant City special: neighbors looking out for one another and taking pride in doing the right thing. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
