My entire experience was horrible from drop off to pick up! I was very disappointed in the manner the service advisor, Artie, handled my service experience. My daughter dropped off my 2008 Chevy Impala on Monday, July 13th. Artie had previously, about a month earlier, given me an estimate on an oil pain gasket and the time frame of about one week to do the repairs. I decided to have the work done while I was on vacation. When my daughter dropped off the car, she told Artie he had already given us an estimate. He looked for the estimate, but couldn't find it. He told her that the mechanics would have to diagnose the car before he could give her another estimate and it would cost an additional $150.00. My daughter agreed to the additional charge because she had already made arrangements to drop it off at Pete Moore, which is at least a 40 minute drive from our house in Cantonment, and because Artie implied that he couldn't give an estimate nor proceed with any repairs without a diagnosis from one of their mechanics, even though another reputable shop had diagnosed the oil pan leak; however, that shop didn't do that particular job. Artie also asked if we had made an appointment. My daughter asked if she needed one, but he said no, it was fine. So, she signed the paperwork and left the car. On Friday, July 17th, one week after dropping the car off, my daughter called and asked Artie if he had any news on the car. He said "No, the mechanics hadn't had a chance to look at it yet and the mechanics needed to get back on their game on Monday ". No apologies or explanations were given. On Tuesday, July 21st, my daughter finally received a call confirming that the oil pan gasket was leaking, and the engine mount needed replaced and it needed an alignment. After receiving the estimate, and authorizing the work, my daughter asked for a time frame on when the car would be ready for pickup. Artie said Thursday, July 23rd or Friday, July 24th. On Friday, July 24th, my daughter called to see if the car was ready. Artie said "no, it wasn't ", again no apologies or explanations were given as to the delay nor did he give a new estimate on when it would be ready for pickup. He just said "he would call when it's ready. " Finally, on Thursday, July 30th, almost 15 days after dropping off the car, Artie left a message that the car was ready to be picked up. My daughter picked up the car. However, the next day the change engine oil light came on and the mechanic had not put a new oil change sticker in the car. My daughter called Artie and explained the oil change light needed reset and I needed a new oil change sticker in her message. Artie never returned her call and my daughter ended up resetting the light herself. Customer service is still "a big deal"! Even if the repairs done were done right; the fact that no efforts to keep my daughter informed, the extended time the car was in the shop with no apologies and no returned call after the vehicle was picked up is enough of a reason for me to post a bad review and to not want to do business with Pete Moore again!
