- TKTravis KelleyMay 5, 20262.0Pretty upset after purchasing a car battery here (over $200) because my girlfriends Subaru broke down, bought a battery, and then again breaks down after 3 months. Dealership told me the battery was good but didnt have enough amps. I tried to return it to Advance Auto parts on Mccoy as it still works fine, they tested it but said they cant do anything for me because it works. No store credit, no return, just a "sorry theres nothing we can do..." Basically lost out on $240. I will never shop here again.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
