I had an extremely disappointing experience with this Valvoline location. After getting my oil changed, the technicians apparently failed to properly reattach the fasteners securing the metal splash shield underneath my 2024 Honda CR-V. A few days later, while driving on the highway to Jacksonville, the shield came loose, dragged against the highway, and was shredded. This created a frightening and potentially unsafe situation while I was traveling with my pregnant wife. I contacted Valvoline immediately and filed a claim. Their proposed solution was for me to drive the damaged vehicle roughly FIVE HOURS back from Jacksonville to Miami so they could repair it themselves. I explained that I was not comfortable putting my pregnant wife back in the vehicle and driving hundreds of highway miles without first having the damage properly inspected and repaired. I instead took it to a local Honda dealership in Jacksonville for an emergency repair so we could safely drive home. Rather than taking responsibility and reimbursing me for the repair, the store manager, Sebi, refused to cover the cost and blamed me for declining their recommendation to drive the damaged vehicle five hours back to their shop. That’s the part I find unacceptable. Mistakes happen. I would have been understanding if Valvoline had simply acknowledged the mistake and covered the reasonable cost of fixing the damage their service caused. Instead, I was essentially told that because I prioritized getting the vehicle repaired locally rather than making a five-hour interstate drive in its damaged condition, the cost was now my problem. I trusted Valvoline to service my vehicle correctly. Their mistake created the problem; their response to it is why I’m leaving one star.
