I have been a long-time customer of this location and have regularly trusted this Goodyear with oil changes, maintenance, and service for multiple vehicles over the years. I chose Goodyear because I believed your team would be honest, thorough, and upfront with anything they found. Unfortunately, my recent experience has caused me to lose confidence in your company entirely.
On March 31, 2026, I brought a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to the Navarre location for a pre-purchase inspection before buying the vehicle. This inspection was extremely important, as the results would help me make an informed purchasing decision.
When I arrived, salesperson Jose Donato Gomez was at the front counter. The moment I mentioned I was considering purchasing a Jeep, he immediately began making negative comments such as “Don’t get it” and “Jeeps are bad,” before even seeing the vehicle or hearing any details. I found this unprofessional and inappropriate. I specifically chose Goodyear for an unbiased mechanical inspection, not personal opinions. I have owned multiple Jeeps in the past, I understand the quirks and common issues, I don't need you to tell me that.
I provided the Carfax report and a written list of specific concerns I wanted checked. I also verbally requested that the technician closely inspect the following:
-Wet oil leak
-Structural condition due to prior accidents
-Air conditioning and cooling system
-Suspension and tires
This vehicle has oversized tires and a visibly misaligned front bumper, which I had already noticed and wanted professionally evaluated.
The invoice listed Christopher O’Donnell as the technician, though I never saw or spoke with him.
Approximately 20 minutes later, Jose returned to the waiting area where both myself and the seller were present and loudly stated, “Don’t do it, don’t do it,” before rapidly explaining there was “oil everywhere” and that it was an oil filter housing leak — supposedly a common issue. He quickly mentioned an EVAP code and said everything else was great, no issues.
I relied on Goodyear’s inspection and chose to purchase the vehicle, believing the oil leak was the only major issue. Since then, I have discovered multiple serious problems that Goodyear either missed or misdiagnosed:
-The oil leak was NOT the oil filter housing.
My mobile mechanic came out to replace it at a quoted cost and found the actual leak was the valve cover. I paid for a service visit based on incorrect information from Goodyear.
-The air conditioning failed shortly after purchase.
After only a few days of driving, the AC began blowing hot air — despite specifically requesting the AC and cooling system be checked.
-Significant front-end damage was missed.
When investigating the tire rubbing issue, my mechanic found the bumper support bracket assembly was broken and missing, causing the hanging and misaligned bumper. The headlight assembly was also loose and unstable, and the headlight itself had a junkyard sticker on the underside indicating it had been replaced with salvage parts. There's also missing parts between the grill and radiator - how could you miss that!?
I am extremely disappointed that these obvious and important issues were discovered by my mobile mechanic — not by Goodyear, the company I paid specifically for a pre-purchase inspection.
This poor inspection has already cost me thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs that I would have strongly considered before purchasing the vehicle had I been properly informed.
As a long-time customer of this Navarre location, this experience feels dishonest, disloyal, and shameful. Goodyear has lost my business moving forward. I will no longer bring any of my vehicles to this location for oil changes, maintenance, or repairs, and I will also be sharing this experience with my family members who have also been loyal customers. We deserve honesty, competence, and a thorough service paid for.
I’ve been coming here since 2002, but today is my last day coming to this Goodyear location. Where do I start?! Over the years, I have found my dipstick on the radiator, my oil fill cap in the intake manifold valley, lost tire caps, tire’s under inflated, and other issues. Sometimes the crew gets better and I end up sticking with them out of habit. Two years ago I had a new set of wranglers, a road hazard warranty, and a three year alignment plus a pile of cash in their pockets. I kept having a shaky ride in the tires, but no matter how much they tried they couldn’t seem to get the tires balanced. There’s more on that, but moving on to my final straw.A year ago, I brought it in for an alignment because we were going on a road trip across the country. I told them I was getting ready for a trip across country and it needs to be right before I go. They “aligned” the tires, still didn’t feel right. Brought it back, they said a tire must be bad so they swapped the right and left front tire which is very unusual to do with modern tires. Still didn’t fix it. Brought it back and they said they aligned it again. It didn’t feel right so I drove it another shop as a last resort before my big trip. A badly aligned front end would bring a host of other problems if I did not fix it, probably in nowhere Utah at night. The other alignment tech spotted the misalignment right away and found it was way out of alignment. I mean ridiculous out of alignment! I drove out from the other shop with a smooth ride and perfectly aligned front end. Two days later headed out all the way to Spokane Washington and back (6000 mile trip) and was so happy I went somewhere else. Safety matters on a long trip like that. Decided it was my last alignment with this Goodyear. So today, hopeful they could at least remove a nail and plug a tire (with the road hazard I paid for). Nope. One of the problems is they can’t keep technicians and today on a Friday, they were short of help. With only two technicians in today, and one person in the waiting area, they haven’t even got enough people to plug a tire, unless I waited till five o’clock (four hours later). So that is it. Navarre Goodyear is always short on staff and the ones they have (at least the ones who have worked on my vehicle) can’t seem to get it right. I have worked in blue collar jobs all my life so I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but that is over. If you are new to Navarre go somewhere else if the safety of your vehicle matters.
