The general manager John was very professional and tried to explain to me what was going on. In short they could not find the original receipt in the system. So it was taking a long time. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
