  recently rented a vehicle from National after returning from a cruise in Miami for our drive home to Virginia. We were exhausted and looking forward to a smooth experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When we picked up the vehicle, the employee simply pointed with his hand and said, "The white minivan over there," without providing any additional assistance or information. After loading all of our luggage, we discovered that the van was very dirty inside. The windows were covered with smudges and handprints, and the interior clearly had not been cleaned. There was even a used drink cup and an opened bottle of water left behind by the previous renter. Because we were tired and didn't have the time or energy to unload everything and request another vehicle, we wiped down the interior ourselves as best we could and continued our trip. I did not expect this level of cleanliness or service from National. I hope they improve their vehicle inspection and cleaning process so future customers don't have the same experience.

  I had a great experience once again with National Car Rental. The pickup was quick and the rental agent was amazing. The vehicle I reserved was not ready when I arrived, but they quickly offered me a substitute vehicle and we were on our way immediately. The staff was awesome and the vehicle was great. I had a van reserved, but received a Durango which was awesome. We had plenty of space and the vehicle was clean and worked well. I appreciate the amazing customer service and the smooth process. Great experience. Great job to all those involved at Miami Airport and at Sarasota Airport.

  The Ford Expedition was great, large and plenty of room for family of 5 to take a long drive. Unfortunately, in 15+ years of renting from National this is the first booking of time + distance, so I got hit with $250 in mileage charges. Shame on me for not looking closer at time of booking, but I have booked for years and never saw a mileage charge previously. Again, shame on me, but in the future I’ll book alternate rental companies without the mileage charges.

  We reserved a full size SUV and there were none available. We were given a crossover and our group and bags barely fit. We picked up the car in Miami and returned it to Palm Beach International airport. The manager at PBI apologized for the inconvenience and gave us a significant discount. We switched to National after poor customer service experiences with your competitors. We are very pleased with the customer service response to the issue we experienced and will be returning to National.

  At the Miami national rental place I was greeted by multiple employees asking if I needed help or what kind of vehicle I rented. I told them I reserved a pickup truck and an employee said I’d have to go the Alamo lot they were out and she just walked off. I had no idea where the Alamo lot was but off I went to see. It wasn’t to far down and I found a ram 1500 that fit the bill. I loaded up and headed out looking for the exit. Well, apparently I wasn’t the only one. I pulled into line with about twenty other vehicles coming from three different lanes and we waited. And waited. And waited. This was about 10pm. Theirs was about six places the check out and go but only one of them had someone in it. This poor guy wasn’t doing the best he could. It took almost 40 minutes for me to get there with the other drivers aggressively jockeying to try get to the front with no real line or anyone there to assist. When I finally got to the booth that guy apologized and said I’ve called up front for help but they won’t send anyone. I’ve never seen anything like it. I truly felt sorry for him and it took me an hour to get out of there!! I had two hour drive ahead of me so I didn’t get to my hotel till pretty late. I would say this National location needs some leadership and some help. Absolutely no reason for that especially when you know how many vehicles was reserved!
