- LSLeila SzumskiMar 10, 20261.0We called simply to get information Thursday 3/6. After my husband advised he would communicate with me and then call back, he already felt the pushy-ness of Susan when she said OH WHAT TIME CAN I CALL YOU BACK? Comprehension can be difficult, Susan, but he said HE would call YOU back if interested. No big deal, except then she proceeded to call Friday at 10:42A, 10:43A, 3:50p, 4:20p, 7p and THEN 10 pm. Also called SUNDAY, and then today TWICE. Two separate numbers were used, but I made sure to call both back to verify they were infact intoxalock because I was seriously blasted that a company wanting our business would have the nerve to call on a Friday evening at 10pm and then a Sunday, as well. This company is close to my house and what we wanted to use, but now I will be driving to Cocoa to avoid their chaos. Ethier they really need the business or they need to get rid of Susan. When I answered and asked about calling on a Friday night she paused for a bit longer than a usual pause and said ".... No?.... **I** didn't...." Like she was trying to figure out what kind of story or lie to tell, and instead chose to blame someone else, but the call log doesn't lie, miss sales pitch. I'm gunna pass for now, thanks, but let me know if Susan leaves and I might try again 😀 just insane.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.
Where do I get an ignition interlock device?
Ignition interlock devices can be installed at certified service centers nationwide. Intoxalock offers a convenient network of locations and helps you schedule an installation appointment near you. Visit our Intoxalock locations page or call us to find the nearest service center and begin the installation process.
How long will my installation take?
Installing an ignition interlock device typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on your vehicle type. Certified technicians ensure the device is properly installed and provide you with training on how to use it. Contact Intoxalock for an appointment and an accurate time estimate for your installation.
What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
Yes, in most cases, you can install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle you regularly drive, even if you’re not the registered owner. However, the vehicle owner must provide consent for the installation. Intoxalock works with you and the owner to ensure compliance with state regulations and the successful setup of the device.
What should I do if my ignition interlock device locks me out?
If your ignition interlock device locks you out, it’s usually due to missed tests, failed tests, or state-specific requirements.
