- MMMARKJun 20, 20261.0If you own a diesel, don’t buy your oil from Advance, they won’t take your used oil, of course they don’t tell you that when you purchase it. I’ve returned my oil there many times but now all of the sudden they don’t take it anymore. I have been using advance auto for decades but now I’m going to use O’ Reilly Auto, they take your used oil.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
