Not only was the team knowledgeable and friendly, the explained things to me on a level that I could understand. 3 products, a little help from my son in law, and less than 70 dollars later. The truck is running like she used to. Huge hugs and Thank you to this location. Keep up being human to humans :) sincerely the 1 glove girl.

The alternator on my truck gave out on my way out of town and miraculously shut down on me as I pulled into the parking lot of this advance auto. Each staff member helped me through the process of diagnosing my issue, jumping my vehicle (multiple times), and ultimately geting me back on the road for my trip. The part I needed wasnt in stock at this location, but was able to be delivered to us. While being delivered I was able to remove my old alternator with the help their lender belt tensioner, and easily swapped on the new part. With another jump from the staff, we were on our way. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you again for all of the help and understanding.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
