The day started wonderfully while driving to work on the two lane section of 200 on my way to work at 0 dark thirty this morning when the tire sensor light came on. Not noticing that i hit something, I turned on the tire monitor and watched in dread as the number, which started at 37 when i left the house, was 28. I thought to myself if I could just get to Walmart, I’d be alright…. Then that number started dropping and the panic and fear set in. What if i don’t make it to Walmart? 200 is a crazy road with no shoulder and I definitely did not want to pull over there. Then I was approaching the tread light at 484…. Tire pressure was 19…. Almost to Walmart but if i get stick at this red light….. that’s it. I’m stock till the cavalry (aka my husband) arrives. But the light was green, so i was near the finish line. I made it to Walmart with the tire pressure at 17! To keep an story going even longer, even I got into the tire center, checked on and the dude behind the counter with ipad went out to check my tire, he came back in with dreaded news: the tire was shredded and they didn’t have my size!! But the gents were kind there and put on the spare so i could at least make the trek to work and the 30 mile drive to the location that would carry my tire size. So I left work, drove carefully from Ocala all the way to the Mavis in Homosassa. I walked in the door and was immediately greeted by Audrey. She was expecting me, of course, because my husband called there multiple times to make sure they had my tire size. Then again to see if they had more than one just in case. So, Audrey checked me in and then walked outside with me lagging behind so she could examine the damage. She was kind enough to explain to me in terms that i could understand, because i am in no way, shape or form auto mechanical, what the deal was with my tires. She said I could have gotten away with changing the front two because there was still some miles left on the back two. But in my head, I was thinking “then I’ll be back in six months just to replace them”. So I said, screw it! Let’s change all four. She said cool. Then told about the discount on the alignment and I said let’s go for it. So, i left my car in Audrey’s capable hands. Went home, ate some dinner, went grocery shopping…. That’s when Audrey called and said my brake pads…. No bueno. Goes replace those suckers too. I figured since the care has 100k miles on it, it was time. She said come back at closing time and pick her up. I had time to come and put together this new storage caddy I bought. Well, we went to pick the ole girl up. They were just about done with the alignment…. Stayed open a B little longer to make sure the customer was satisfied. Although it cost a small fortune (thank ole gal is paid off!), I was pleased with the kindness, the explanation in laymen’s terms and communication that I received while my vehicle was there. They treated her with care. I appreciate Audrey’s service and the management team for taking care of my pearly girl. Will definitely return for further service.

My wife's tire needed to be replaced and I figured I'd give the Mavis folks a try since their price was decent. Unfortunately, when my wife returned home after the service and I looked at the tire, it was completely flat. We called the store and they took really good care of us after the mistake. Mistakes can happen, and this store not only took responsibility, but they went the extra mile to ensure they made things right. A store that stands behind their service 100% will always have my support. If I could rate their corporate customer service line separately, it would be 1 star as they are less than useless. My advice is if anything comes up from a service you got at this location, call the store directly and they will take care of you. Thanks for the redeeming experience Mavis Homosassa!

I just got done getting an oil change at Mavis in homosassa and I can say after that there is no other place I’d go. First off their pricing is very good and reasonable. Plus they don’t JUST DO AN OIL CHANGE! They rotate the tires and do a full complete check over for anything that they notice needs attention. Not to the degree of using scare tactics but legitimately giving you the OPTIONS. They let you know not just if there are any issues, but the order of priority and what needs more attention first. You know like the way most places used to do business years ago. They aren’t pushy they are just perform actual routine maintenance. Not just drop a new oil filter, fill up and go. Zach and Audrey at the front desk are patient, kind and willing to explain. A++ Mavis will be the only ones touching my car or my family’s and everyone I recommend. You may have to make an appointment but a busy place means they do good business, empty businesses don’t do good business. Thank and God bless.

I arrived at approximately 3:15 p.m. on 6/19 and was greeted by the front desk employee, whose demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than attempting to help or offer any alternatives, I was immediately told, with a smile, “No, buddy. Insurance and liability. We don’t do anything with boat trailers.” Being addressed as “buddy” in that context came across as condescending and disrespectful. I understand that policies exist, but there is a professional way to communicate them. Instead, I was left stranded with no assistance or guidance. As a result, I had to leave with a trailer issue that put me at risk on the road, including the possibility of my trailer fishtailing. I sincerely hope the lack of basic customer service was worth putting a customer in that position.

This shop is all about the sales. You will be dealing with a salesman working on commission , not a mechanic the second you walk in the door. They are going to sell you a list of things you did not come in for. You will be told your vehicle is not safe to drive. You will be quoted an astronomical price and told this is what your vehicle needs to be safe. I came in with a warped (vibrating) front left rotor. The salesman said I needed both rotors, both brake calipers, all new brake pads and both brake lines. I was quoted $2800 after a $300 discount. This same job was quoted the next morning at a shop 4 miles away at $800 and a complete time of 4 hours. The mechanic at this shop did not believe me when I told him what Mavis quoted me. At their rate, the Mavis salesman was charging me 200% parts markup, plus $500 per hour for labor. To Mavis: I see this same salesman's name in many of the other comments with the same story. You already know his name. This person is destroying your business. I'm an RV'er in an RV town, and your shop is now a joke that was passed around all weekend in the largest campground in the city. Address this or don't it's up to you.
