- RCRyan CloughOct 3, 20261.0Extremely bad experience with Advanced Auto Parts store #09246 I bought a brand new Optima battery 7/19/25 for $352.99. I brought the battery home to install in my vehicle and it was dead so after an hour of trying to figure out was was wrong I took the back to the Advanced Auto Parts and told them it didn’t work. They said sir this has a defected sticker on it, the lady at the store grabbed my battery off of the defected shelf, and it had a defected sticker on it. They said we are sorry for the mess up and they said here we’re gonna have to exchange this in the system to make it work and will give you a brand new battery because we sold you a defective, but we are going to have to use it as a warranty claim for their system to work from your older battery that I had in my other vehicle. After all that They gave me the correct battery dated 2/25. Now today 10/3/26 the battery is completely dead barely a year old, I take it up there to Advanced Auto parts and they Will not honor the warranty. DO NOT GO HERE you will get scammed and treated like garbage and have two men yelling at you over the counter because they know they’re caught in a lie.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
