By 4 PM, my car wouldn’t start again, and I had to call them back out. I tried reaching them for help while I was out, but couldn’t get any support. I ended up going to Advance Auto Parts, and the difference in service was night and day. The staff there—Nestor, Rosanna, a young man, and another woman—were incredibly helpful, patient, and accommodating. Even other customers were kind and supportive. I felt heard, safe, and taken care of. I ultimately purchased a new battery from Advance Auto Parts, and based on my past experiences with AAA batteries not lasting more than a couple of years, I won’t be purchasing from them again. Huge thank you to the team at Advance Auto Parts for turning a stressful situation into a positive one.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
