  Loyal Executive Elite Customer Treated Like an Inconvenience I've been a loyal National customer with Executive Elite status for years. I've always selected large SUVs from the Executive aisle without issue — it's literally the perk of the program. On my most recent visit, I was suddenly told I couldn't take the large SUV I selected and that I'd be charged extra if I did. When I asked why — given that I've never had this issue before — no one could give me a clear explanation. No apology, no attempt to make it right, nothing. I needed a large vehicle for a work related task the next day, but instead I was forced to downgrade to a smaller vehicle. The whole interaction left me so frustrated that I returned the car the same day and went straight to Avis, where the staff was polite, professional, and smiling from the moment I walked in. National, this is how you lose a long-time Elite member. No explanation, no accountability, and zero effort to retain a loyal customer. Avis earned my business in 5 minutes — something you threw away after years.

  Jacob went out of his way to make sure we had the right sized vehicle for our needs, even though it wasn’t readily available in the Executive lot. Thank you so much for going above and beyond (when you truly didn’t need to!)

  Mimi at National Car Rental at the Ft. Myers airport was absolutely incredible! She was outgoing, knowledgeable, and made the entire rental process so easy and seamless from start to finish. She truly started our honeymoon off on the best possible note. We were able to rent a Jeep that was spotless and perfect for our trip. Her positive attitude and exceptional customer service made such a great impression on us. I would highly recommend renting from this location — especially if Mimi is helping you!
