  The experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we picked up the car, the staff tried to upgrade our reservation and increased the price from $300 to $600 for just two days, even though we clearly said we didn’t want the upgrade. When we returned the car, they first tried to charge us for fuel even though we had already prepaid for it as part of our reservation. They also claimed they had found small scratches on the fender and implied we might be responsible. However, as soon as we told them that we had a video showing the car’s condition before the rental, they immediately said everything was fine and dropped the issue. I strongly recommend taking photos or videos of the vehicle before driving away. Based on our experience, this could save you from unnecessary charges and disputes.

  Sixt at Fort Lauderdale Beach/Westin Resort has a seamless system of pickup and drop off. Evan S is an asset to their Team. He is solely focused on the guest experience. While in line, I also watched him defuse a situation where the guest was starting to get upset but he stayed even keeled and ended up making the guest happy. If I had an opening on my leadership team, I would try to recruit Evan. He is the perfect example of how you want an employee to interact with customers/guests. Overall, a great experience with Sixt. I would not go anywhere else if I need to rent a car and you shouldn't either!

  I am writing this review to warn others to stay far away from this rental location. My experience here was nothing short of infuriating, characterized by blatant dishonesty and a complete disregard for the customer’s reservation. First, I had to wait at the counter before being acknowledged by a single employee. When I was finally assisted, I was told that the full-size sedan I had explicitly reserved was unavailable. Instead, the agent attempted to force me into a compact SUV, having the audacity to call it an "upgrade." Let me be crystal clear: I do not want an upgrade, I do not want anything for free, and I certainly will not be gaslit. A compact SUV is not an upgrade from a full-size sedan—it is a downgrade in size and comfort. It is insulting to any customer’s intelligence to suggest otherwise, and it is infuriating to be talked to as if I have never stepped foot in a rental car office before. The dishonesty was confirmed when the gentleman working at the counter next to us was clearly listing off a variety of available vehicle options to another party, while I was told the only car available was a Ford Escape. This vehicle is cheap, cramped, and entirely unsuitable for my needs. I expect the service provider to honor the contract of the vehicle class I reserved. When a company fails to do that and treats the customer with such condescension, they have no business operating in the hospitality industry. If you value your time and your reservation, look elsewhere.
