I highly recommend the location at 6546 N State Road 7, Coconut Creek to all my friends, family, and anyone who needs parts or supplies for their vehicle. I had just left a competitor (the one with "Zone" in its name) after receiving some of the worst customer service I've experienced, so I arrived in a terrible mood. The staff at this Advanced Auto Parts completely turned that around. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, making the entire experience pleasant and stress-free. I walked in frustrated and left in a great mood. They've definitely earned my business, and this will be the only auto parts store I'll be visiting in the future. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
