As the owner of South Lake Driving School, we have chosen Mavis at Hammock Ridge for our brakes and tires. The store manager is really easy to work with and will do his best to make the customer happy. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. The guys at this store are top notch

Service was awful. I was told the work would take two hours max, and I had an 8:00 AM appointment as the first car of the day. Despite that, I did not receive my car back for over four hours. When I asked about the delay, I was told, “this work is not something we can just rush.” That would have been understandable if I hadn’t originally been told it would only take two hours maximum. The communication and time expectations were extremely disappointing.

Sam and his crew at Mavis are always the epitome of professionalism and hospitality. Their facility is always clean and well managed, my appointments are always serviced in a timely manner and their staff is informative and thorough without being pushy. Sam has taken care of my cars for over 15 years and I would truly trust him with any of my automotive needs.
I normally do not leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at Mavis Tires & Brakes (the one across from Chick-fil-A) was frustrating enough that I felt the need to share it.
We ordered tires online for my car and scheduled an appointment several days in advance. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told the order had been canceled because they could no longer get the tires. The issue is that no one contacted us beforehand to let us know, so I drove there expecting everything to be ready.
I was then offered different tires that were $200–$300 more expensive. Since I badly needed tires, I agreed to purchase them anyway. I tried to get them closer to the original quoted price, and while the employee did lower the price some, he repeatedly told me they were “making no money” and had “cut out all the profit.” That made the whole interaction uncomfortable, especially considering this situation was not caused by me.
I was also told I needed an alignment because I was getting new tires, so I agreed to that as well. Unfortunately, after leaving, I realized the alignment was not done correctly, and now I have to take my car back again to have it fixed.
I understand inventory problems happen, but better communication and customer service would have gone a long way. Calling ahead to explain the issue and offering a comparable replacement at the original price would have been the right way to handle it. Especially since they called to confirm the appointment. Instead, the entire experience was stressful, inconvenient, and disappointing.

Went into this location after having horrible service somewhere else and the staff there on duty was very friendly and was able to help me out with my tire issue. On top of it I was pulling a trailer and the staff didn’t even mind that at all and was still so willing to help. Highly recommend this location.
