One of them installed my battery incorrectly what caused it to corrode ($325 Optima red top battery) and yesterday when I was purchasing new windshield wipers the employee sold me additional extended coverage without my approval/knowledge. That is unprofessional and the HR need to step up their game, because competition is just across the street.

They both went above and beyond to help me, and it’s rare to find customer service like that these days. They were friendly from the moment I walked in, took the time to answer all of my questions, and never made me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing them. They were knowledgeable, professional, and made sure I got exactly what I needed without trying to upsell me or send me home with the wrong parts. What really stood out was how patient and genuinely kind they were. They made what could have been a stressful trip quick, easy, and actually enjoyable. It’s obvious they care about their customers and take pride in their work. If you’re visiting this Advance Auto Parts, I highly recommend asking for Bradley or Colby. They both provided outstanding customer service and are a huge asset to the store. I’ll definitely be coming back because of the experience they provided. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
