- GOGordy OsteenJan 25, 20261.0I’ve shopped at this Advance Auto Parts location a few times and the store itself is fine—good selection and usually has what I need. However, one employee’s personal hygiene made the experience really uncomfortable. The body odor was extremely strong and noticeable from several feet away, to the point where it was hard to stay at the counter. Customer service isn’t just about knowledge and speed—basic cleanliness matters too, especially in a retail environment. I hope management addresses this, because it takes away from what could otherwise be a solid store.

I arrived a bit after that time, at 7:45, but found the doors still locked and no one answering the phone. It’s really inconvenient to rely on posted hours that aren’t being followed. I hope the store can update their hours or be more consistent so customers aren’t left waiting.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
