- JSJessica Simons2 days ago5.0Went into Advance Auto explaining my car issue with the highly technical diagnosis of: “I think the thing ….that connects my battery to the car is… gross?” 😂 Somehow Paul immediately knew exactly what I meant and didn’t even blink. Turns out the “gross thing” was my battery terminal looking like it had been growing its own ecosystem. He got me the part, explained it without making me feel dumb, and had me back on the road before my Chevy decided to audition for another electrical horror movie. Customer service like that deserves a raise and probably a medal for translating chaotic car descriptions into actual mechanic language. 10/10 — if ur car is making you question your sanity, ask for Paul. I will be back again!!

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
