Unfortunately, this location didn’t have what I needed in stock, but the customer service made the visit worthwhile. The cashier was extremely helpful and took the extra time to search the computer system to see which nearby store had the item available. I really appreciated the effort instead of simply being told it wasn’t in stock and being sent on my way. They may not have had what I needed that day, but the helpful service and willingness to find a solution definitely deserved five stars.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
