Everything was good except the glass was not clean when he was done. I'm not saying he didn't try to clean but new glass takes multiple cleanings to be clean. All else was great.

The glass technicians do good work, but their scheduling people are grossly unprofessional. No one showed up for my original appointment on Wednesday morning and no one informed me it had been moved to the following week. I waited all day for nothing.

Only either 5 hour or 10 hour window options to have to wait. Associate damaged and broke items that were attached to my dashboard. VERY aggressive when driving my vehicle to "calibrate" - highly recommend asserting that the owner drives the vehicle or goes along for the ride for the calibration. Unprofessional and vulgar language utilized by the Safelite representative who replace my windshield. If your insurer will only cover these hacks, fight it.

I want to be clear: my issue was mostly with Safelite as a company, not the West Hartford branch. Everyone I dealt with locally was pleasant and professional, especially Justin. The corporate phone support, however, was a completely different story. I needed the rear quarter glass replaced on my 718 Porsche Cayman because Porsche built the window trim into the glass itself. My car came with matte black trim, and I was switching everything to gloss black. I gave Safelite the exact Porsche OEM part numbers for the gloss black quarter windows. The glass cost roughly $1,200. Despite that, Safelite initially ordered the wrong parts based on my VIN instead of the specific part numbers I provided. Corporate told me someone from parts would email me to confirm the correct parts. That never happened. After several calls, I finally got connected with the West Hartford location directly, and Justin made sure the correct gloss black-trimmed glass was ordered. The correct glass arrived, Justin even sent me a photo to confirm it, and the install was scheduled. Then the mobile techs said they were uncomfortable with the job, so I was told their “master tech” would handle it instead. That meant waiting almost another week and dropping the car off at the store. I originally started this process on May 7th. My car was not looked at until June 1st. At 9:30 AM on the day of the install, Safelite called and told me the “master tech” too did not feel comfortable doing the job. After nearly a month of delays, parts issues, rescheduling, and assurances, they simply refused to perform the work they had quoted and scheduled. To make it worse, I still bought the glass from them uninstalled. I then called Automotive Associates in Canton, who understood the job and scheduled the replacement over the phone with less than three days’ wait. If you have a normal windshield chip or basic glass replacement, Safelite may be fine. But if you have anything even slightly unusual, especially on a European car (or a car you really care about), do yourself a favor and go to a reputable independent specialist which is what I should have done in the first place. Safelite wasted nearly a month of my time on a job they quoted, ordered parts for twice, scheduled, rescheduled, and then refused to do. Unless your insurance gives you no other choice, AVOID.
