  I thought I enrolled at Allstate to practice passing a CDL exam. Instead, I just felt like I was there to not aggravate my instructors for 90 minutes each class. Mistakes are a part of every learning experience. These trainers at Allstate must have forgotten that. Peter and Scott are the worst ones. Totally unprofessional with miserable attitudes. Good thing for Scott this is family run because he wouldn't have a job anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this joke of a school.

  John in Meriden was my instructor great guy , patient, made sure i was ready come test time. Connor , also an instructor recommended the school when i was considering upgrading from a class B to a class A and I'm gas he did.

  I just finished my weekend orientation with Jim! Absolutely a great instructor and gave the whole class the information we needed to go into training feeling confident! If you want to get the best experience, come to Allstate! Adam made it a smooth entry into the school for me. If you guys are worried about financial things, swing by and have a conversation with them, they have many options to get you trained! I passed my written test a couple of weeks ago and now I start my hands on, I know I will do great because I feel they want you to succeed. Just in class, I already made a contact with a guy in class that will help me get driving with his company as soon as I get my stamp! He is going back getting his A because he let it go a few years back. See, you can learn and network all under the same roof! Great place.

  Allstate is a solid option if you are pursuing your CDL. I just passed my Class B auto test. There were Pros and Cons but ultimately, you have to push yourself to gain the knowledge you need to pass the exam through memorization and prepping at home. Pros: - Reasonably priced. - 1 on 1 training with instructors. - Organized scheduling department - they work with your schedule and provide ample notice of when you are scheduled. - Great resources provided after signing up - step by step actions needed before starting class, permit prep material, pre trip inspection steps. Cons: - Inconsistent teachings from instructors. - Over half the instructors I worked with were on their phones, impatient, smoking and not paying attention during my pre trip inspection. - classroom sessions were the biggest waste of time - they were supposed to cover basics for the permit exam and pre trip inspections. The instructor would consistently go off topic and on irrelevant rants. - I was taught more on how to pass the DMV test, not how to drive the truck. I was hoping to be challenged with tight turns and other real life scenarios on the road. Instead it more focused on what the dmv tester would look out for - speed, stopping a yellow lights, not hitting curbs, etc. I do recommend this school, I just encourage people speak up if they feel they are not getting their money's worth.
