Had an appointment to look at a vehicle to look at a specific vehicle, made the appointment for the very next day. I received a message stating that the vehicle was still available. Before they closed for business asking to confirm my appointment for the next day. I confirmed yes. The next day I told them I was on my way to look at the vehicle. They said "great, thanks for letting us know." I already had financing lined up, was ready to get it done that day. I drove an hour there, only to be told by a Salesman that the vehicle was under contract as of the day before! If youre looking to drive there for a specific vehicle maybe triple check what you're going to look at is still available.

I recently purchased a 2026 Chevy Equinox from Grossman Chevrolet in Old Saybrook, and it was one of the best car-buying experiences I've ever had.
Obed Santiago was fantastic to work with—fair, professional, and communicative throughout the entire process. When I first test-drove the Equinox, they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. Obed went above and beyond to find the exact vehicle I was looking for, which I really appreciated. He kept me informed every step of the way and made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
I love my new Equinox and highly recommend Grossman Chevrolet to anyone looking for a new vehicle. Thank you, Obed, for making this such a great experience!
My brother purchased a vehicle from this dealership less than two months ago. During the sales process, the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Unfortunately, our experience after the sale was very different.
The vehicle came with a one-month warranty, and within that warranty period my brother began noticing that something was wrong with the car. He brought it back to the dealership and explained his concerns, but was told that everything was fine and that no issues were found.
Shortly after the warranty expired, the check engine light came on. We took the vehicle to another dealership for a second opinion, and they discovered a crack that was causing a leak into the engine. The damage was severe enough that the entire engine now needs to be replaced.
We contacted Grossman to discuss the situation, especially since my brother reported the problem while the vehicle was still under warranty. Their response was that they could do nothing because he did not purchase the extended warranty.
The most frustrating part is that my brother brought the vehicle in during the warranty period specifically because he knew something was wrong. Had the issue been properly diagnosed and addressed at that time, we might not be facing the cost of a complete engine replacement today. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage potential buyers to have any used vehicle independently inspected and to carefully consider how warranty concerns are handled after the sale.
Bought a used Toyota Tacoma for my son and at day 71 had a catastrophic failure of the engine. The truck was taken in as my son felt like there may be an issue with the engine. The machine said there was no issue and he was sent on his way. Now that there is an issue there is not even a let's help you with a discount on an engine swap. It was a sorry you did not get an extended warranty.
UPDATE*** There is a 6 month 6000 mile warranty that should save the day. The truck will be towed over and the Carrie Giuliano the service manager is going to make this right! Hope to be able to provide an even better update in the near future!

I had a terrible experience with Grossman. I looked at one car and said how much I liked it, but because it was used, I asked for fresh brake pads. They refused and the car needed them. They only did an oil change. I expressed I was going to go across the street and check those cars. The next day I went in and wished I cancelled the purchase, but I did not. The car runs aweful. I was in a rush and regret ever going there.
