- BGBarry GordonMay 13, 20265.0Stopped by the store and saw Paul the manager. Mu wife's Jeep needed a battery. Paul came right out and did a test 1st to make sure that's what it needed. I purchased the battery and Paul installed it in about 10 minutes. Was very pleasant and professional. Unfortunately after I left the check engine light came on, so I went right back. Paul was very helpful and cleared it after checking the code to make sure it was nothing else. Was back on the road in about 10 minutes. Very pleased.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
