- GJGarry JohnsonJan 4, 20235.0SH Dauntless Shipyard is, without doubt, the best marina on the Connecticut shoreline. We slipped & stored two boats there, year-round, from 2013-2022. Henry and his team did a wonderful job restoring and upgrading our "older" 31' Downeast boat. Attention to detail and quality workmanship is their "standard operating procedure". We sold our boat (at a premium) several months ago, but, the next one (there's always a "next one", right?) will go straight to Dauntless for year-round care...

There's only like 14 tables outside in essex and the staff don't hurry the customers along sooo waiting for a table could be 2mins or like 2hrs. And no reservations for the outside either!! I was disappointed since the prices ranged from $15-up. Probably will go back, at some point but not a huge fan. Sorry.
