  I just couldn't let a bad experience go without a review. I usually use my dealership for oil changes because it's cheaper than the other places and I get a much better customer experience. But this time I was about to leave town on a ~3000 mile road trip and needed to get an oil change, but didn't have time to visit my dealer. So, I stopped into Jiffy Lube near my work location during a lunch break to get an oil and filter change on my 2021 Ram 1500. I told them I just wanted an oil/filter change, nothing else. After waiting a few minutes, a woman came to me in the waiting area and showed me an engine coolant test strip, claiming that my coolant was old and not effective (glycol too low). She claimed it was basically water. I said the coolant is fine, it gets tested every time I visit my dealership. The coolant is the original 100K mile factory coolant in the truck, with about 80K miles on it. She said they recommend a radiator flush and new coolant every year. There are cars all over the highways with factory coolant and manufacturer's recommendation of 100K miles for a flush/coolant change. She said there's no such thing as coolant that lasts 100K miles, despite the fact that they have been around for decades now. After going back into the garage where my truck was, I could hear her and the others making derogatory remarks about me. A few minutes later, another woman came to me with my engine air filter, which was a little dirty (but not too bad). She claimed that this should be changed because "it puts a strain on the engine". At this point I wanted to explain to her that if anything, a clogged air filter reduces the strain on the engine because it throttles air flow (just like the throttle body does). With reduced air flow your maximum power might be slightly reduced, but no strain is put on the engine....if anything it only reduces the maximum strain you might subject the engine to when at max throttle, fully loaded. However, since I didn't want to risk them spitting on my food while it was still in the kitchen, I kept my mouth shut and just asked her to re-install it and I would take care it. Of course, after her return to the garage bay I could once again here the three or four employees making derogatory comments. After I returned home, I tested the coolant myself with my own test strips and as expected the glycol level was between 50% and 60% and the anti-ox performance tested fine as well. I guess this place is accustomed to having customers who don't understand cars, so they try these scare tactics to sell services that aren't wanted or needed. I understand this is common practice, but I couldn't let this go without calling them out. I wouldn't have thought twice about it if they weren't making derogatory comments about me in the garage bay loud enough for me to hear them in the waiting area inside.
