I went here for a second opinion on my 2014 Subaru Forester after being referred by a friend. As someone who doesn’t know much about cars but appreciates having a thorough understanding before deciding on repairs, I really appreciated the way the guys at Subiesmith (Todd and Ace) handled the diagnostics and talking me through the decision process. I trusted their expertise in weighing the pros/cons of different repair options and their predictions of the lifespan of other broken parts of my car. Their prices were better than the first opinion I got. I’ll definitely be referring friends here.

Other shop who shall not be named left rear diff fill cap off, so I blew my rear diff. Shipped the car to subiesmith and they got it fixed in short order and for a very fair price. Which is saying alot because it would not move at all. I will not take my subarus to anyone else besides subiesmith. Seriously the best.

I’ve been to SubieSmith for a few different things now, and I’ve had consistently great experiences. Subarus can be quirky, especially as they get older, and one of the things I appreciate most about this shop is that they clearly know these cars inside and out. More importantly, they make good judgment calls about what actually matters. I’ve brought my car in expecting to have certain services done, and they’ve recommended against spending the money when they didn’t think the work was necessary. At the same time, when they find something that genuinely needs attention, they’re clear about why it matters and what should be prioritized. That’s exactly what I want from a shop. I don’t want to be upsold or have someone try to make an older car perfect. I want someone who understands the car, tells me what’s important, and helps me keep it running reliably. Their pricing has also always seemed very reasonable, and sometimes even on the lower end of what I’d expect for the work. Between that and the Subaru-specific expertise, I have a lot of confidence bringing my car here. It really feels like their goal is to keep Subarus on the road and build long-term relationships with their customers rather than squeeze as much money as possible out of each visit. That’s gotten increasingly hard to find, and I really appreciate it.

These guys are amazing!! They were so patient with me through a couple inspections on used Subarus and I am so grateful for the time they took to help me. The crew here was also great with answering a ton of questions I had over the phone before bringing the cars in. Scheduling was easy and they were easy to communicate with. It’s very important to me to trust my mechanic (as I’m sure it is to everybody) and they quickly earned my trust and loyalty. Looking forward to working with these guys again!
