  The manager on duty in Grand Junction was excellent. Unfortunately, my experience with Autumn in Montrose was the complete opposite. I arrived in Montrose to exchange a vehicle after the air conditioning failed during a trip in western Colorado, where temperatures were in the high 80s. Despite explaining multiple times that I was staying in Paonia, more than an hour away, Autumn's proposed solutions were for me to either take the vehicle to a local repair shop myself or return the following day. Neither option was reasonable, and I was frankly astonished that a customer would be expected to spend part of their vacation coordinating repairs for a rental vehicle. Throughout the interaction, Autumn was dismissive, condescending, and noticeably lacking in empathy. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience of a vehicle failure, apologizing for the situation, or attempting to provide meaningful assistance, she treated the matter as though it were an inconvenience to her. What stood out most was the complete absence of customer service. There was no apology, no appreciation for my business, and no indication that she understood the disruption caused by Alamo providing a vehicle with a major mechanical issue. After apparently being notified in advance that I was arriving for an exchange, she emerged from the back office, confirmed my identity, and then offered a lower-class replacement vehicle than the one I had rented. At that point, I accepted it simply because having functioning air conditioning was more important than arguing over vehicle class. Mechanical failures happen. What customers remember is how they are treated afterward. In this case, the failure of the vehicle was frustrating, but the indifference and lack of professionalism I encountered from Autumn left the stronger impression. If Autumn's behavior reflects the customer service standards at that location, I will seriously reconsider renting from Alamo in the future. One employee can absolutely damage a brand's reputation, and in this case, she did.

  We arrived and the staff Justice and others were completely professional at the Grand Junction airport. There was a slight delay because the car needed to be detailed, and the staff could not have been more friendly. The team got bonus points because I had left a credit card In a vending machine, located near the car rental location, and the manager went over and found it and put it in the floor safe for us to recover when we brought the car back. It saved us a lot of time and worry. I could not have asked for more professional assistance during the entire process. We drove our car from Grand Junction to Arches national Monument and everything worked great. The fees were what they promised they would be when I booked the vehicle. No hidden charges and no pressures attempts to upsell unless there was something that we wanted.

  Renting from Alamo at Grand Junction airport was very easy to do, and the car we received was in pristine condition. It was thoroughly cleaned, and all of the manuals were in place. That's important in many of the modern cars, as some of the features, like cruise control, were not obvious from the steering wheel setup. We would definitely rent from Alamo again.
