  Experience with Alamo rental was not a pleasant one given the challenge they encountered in their system to document return at Denver airport Alamo drop off location. The vehicle was dropped off properly and Alamo employee had signed off we are good to go, and couple days after, an Alamo was sending messages if we needed to extend our rental! It was tough 24 hours to prove the rental return had already happened and have them review multiple video footage to prove the return. Repeatedly we were advised to believe there was no such vehicle that entered the return ramp! Finally we were able to get them review the shuttle area with some references which enabled them to check in detail and backtrack our position and verify the rental return was indeed completed just fine!! It was quite an experience to say the least and going forward I will insist a return receipt whenever I drop off a rental return!

  @Nellie: customer service said "cannot help you, take it up with the branch." I picked up a car today. The person at the counter was very helpful. Since I am renting for 6 weeks I wanted a car that will make it during six weeks and over 5000 miles without any check engine light or service due. All I got from the guy outside was: "you can chose from these cars" and that's it. No answers to my questions, even when asked repeatedly he only said "I don't know, I don't know". Damages on the car: when I left they said "there are cameras and they register everything". Well, that's nice, but you usually get a paper with all the prior damages ... I hope to return the same car in six weeks without problems .. so far really not impressed and actually very disappointed!!

  I have used this rental car three times in different years. Always satisfied how easy to get there using a free shuttle from the airport to the rental car shop (every 10 minutes, I assume?). The shuttle driver I experienced in June 2026 was pretty fun. He made sure the right stop for the Alamo customers. If you booked via Alamo website, the rental process will be so easy. Usually there is no long waiting line -- all the three times, I waited less than 10 minutes. The cars are in good shape. This time, a staff gave me an option among four different cars, saying "take any of these you prefer" How nice!! Car return was so easy. Especially, the staff working on June 26th at around 8:30 PM at return was friendly and nice. There is a gas station near the airport (less than 10 minutes away?), so it is convenient to fill the gas on your own as well. You can take Uber/Lyft from the rental car shop directly. I will definitely use this Alamo if I visit Denver again.

  I have rented from Alamo plenty of times before and everything was great. This time it was the total opposite. The process was good, but the car given was not. When you rent a car, from prior experience, though is a used car it feels like a new car. This car looked and felt like it was an employees car. When the service man told me the car I walked up to it and even the other people I was with said, "it cant be that one". I went back to the agent and he confirmed that that was indeed the car. Just by looking at the car it looked like it was just brought in and did not get a car wash or they wash it with a dirty ragged. I took it because I had to leave and while driving every bump or hole I took (and I try to avoid holes in general) I felt it on my butt. Like the shocks were messed up. Additionally, while driving a car shifted lanes and I had to step on the breaks. Either the pads were ending or it had not pads at all, because it felt like metal was rubbing. This was my first bad experience with Alamo, not saying I am not going to rent from them again, but if possible drive around their parking lot before you leave and test their breaks to make sure they are in good working orders.

  Booked a mid-size SUV AWD 10 months in advance for a three week road trip around the Rocky Mountains with my wife, easy online process and competitive price, chose the online option to 'skip the counter' to save time but on arrival there were actually three or four desk assistants available, pleasant parking garage assistant pointed out a choice of two vehicles, picked a Buick Envision (as I prefer silver to black) though it was on 46k miles and a little scabby around the edges but clean and comfortable, took a walkaround video as there was no joint inspection and no condition report received until a few minutes after I had left the garage when the agreement etc was emailed to me though I had been offered a paper copy on exit, condition report did not contain all the minor scuffs and scratches I had filmed, vehicle was faultless for the more than 3k miles trip, on return there were many lanes and assistants available, I took another video but no need as the helpful return assistant took a quick look around the vehicle and confirmed all good. My second similar experience with Alamo in the US though on that occasion the vehicle from Georgia Airport was virtually new and unmarked. Recommended.
