  Employee couldn't help me replace my battery because there was only 2 of them at the store(I was the only customer). Ask them to let me borrow the tools to replace it myself and they couldn't do that either. Had to buy the tools. Customer service sucks.

  Came to this location to buy a battery for my 2014 Hyundai sonata hybrid. The clerk who sold me the battery was actually a cool guy, young Hispanic dude very helpful, seemed knowledgeable so when he suggested me a battery I thought nothing of it. A few days later When it finally came time to install the battery i wasn’t able to actually complete the process because the battery I was sold was an H6 when actually my model needed a 48r, I didn’t even consider to check that because these guys are supposed to be the professionals so I trusted his word. During the process of setting up the battery I grazed the top of the soft metal part of the battery. Didn’t cause any actual structural damage and obviously wasn’t able to use it because it was the wrong battery. When I returned to the same location Saturday 7/18/26 about 10am in attempts to exchange for the correct battery, the manager on duty was a white man probably early 30s with a full beard. He was stand offish before he even knew what I was in for, I explained the situation to him and he basically told me because I tried to install it and because that’s the battery his system recommended that there is nothing he could do for me. While talking I asked if he had a problem because he was abnormally tense and determined to brush me off even though THEY SOLD ME The WRONG PRODUCT. I should’ve been the one upset. He told me that my car was wired inversely and that I should install the battery backwards. That was his professional advice and he couldn’t help me any further. So instead of acting how he anticipated me acting I just left the store and called another Autozone location on colfax and explained the situation. The colfax employee told me that while the system recommended the H6 battery that it also had a fine print that for MY particular model it recommended the 48r and that if I would’ve spoken to them he would’ve honored the swap because it was Autozones fault for not being careful and selling the wrong product, but unfortunately only 2 autozones in the state had that particular battery and neither were close. So not only did the manager at the alameda location brush me off, he was wrong and could’ve made it right but didn’t care too. At that moment I decided to go buy the correct battery from O’reilys. And I will be reaching out to corporate Monday to escalate the issue. It’s not ok to treat your customers that way I will never shop with them again.
