  My insurance company referred me to Safelite in Visalia for a windshield repair. Because Safelite is a well-known company, I trusted the brand and scheduled an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, the technician, Michael Salazaa, immediately focused on convincing me to replace my windshield instead of repairing it. He repeatedly told me the repair would only restore the structural integrity, not the cosmetic appearance. He asked how much my insurance deductible was and said that if it was high, I could pay cash because replacement would be “much cheaper.” I also heard him tell the front desk employee to ask for him whenever customers came in for windshield repairs so he could discuss replacement options with them. Before starting the repair, he had the front desk provide me with a replacement quote. My windshield cracked was 2 inches length. I felt like I was being pressured into replacing the windshield instead of giving the repair a fair opportunity. About five minutes after I parked my car following the repair, the technician came back and said, “Ma’am, I have bad news. The crack expanded, and now you need to replace the windshield.” I was shocked. I brought my vehicle in for a windshield repair from 2 inches. And the tech made it into 14 inches long after trying to repair it. The experience made me question whether the repair was performed properly. I searched the AGSC Accredited Repair and Replacement Technicians directory but could not find the technician name listed.That does not necessarily mean he lacks training or qualifications, but it does raise questions for me about the technician’s credentials, training, and the standards used for assigning technicians to perform windshield repairs. After my experience, I believe Safelite should be more transparent about the qualifications and training of the technicians working on customers’ vehicles. The attached photos show the condition of my windshield before and after the repair.

  There were fast and excellent work was done. My bmw had a big crack when I left home and it was nice and shiny when I got back home.

  I used safelight for my windshield replacement, and I could not have been more impressed with their prompt arrival and efficient installation. Ignacio. The technician was excellent and an expert in his job, explained everything and left me with a beautifully and clean installed new windshield, highly recommend.
