Ford Power Stroke® Diesels
Ford Power Stroke® Diesels

Heavy Hauling, Hard Working Ford Power Stroke® Diesels. Because You've Got Work To Do. Ford Power Stroke® Diesel engines are the yardstick truckers use as their standard for power and performance. For massive torque, muscular horsepower and long-haul diesel dependability, Ford Power Stroke® engines lead the way. Why? Massive Torque, Proven Performance. Why our team? We have the technicians, the training, the Ford OEM parts, and the tools to get the job done fast the first time. Trust our team. Power Stroke History For You. The Power Stroke® Diesel story began in 1982, when the Ford Motor Company made a decision that would transform their Super Duty® pickups into the most highly regarded and hottest-selling trucks in America. In pursuit of a whole new level of durability, power, torque and capabilities, Ford partnered with International Truck and Engine Corporation or ITEC (later re-named Navistar, Incorporated) to create a new standard in diesel engine technology that would help redefine the industry. That first power plant, the 6.9L Indirect Injection (IDI) engine, featured a modest 170 HP and 315 lb-ft of torque. The truck world eagerly greeted that very first Power Stroke® diesel. Not long after, came the next generation Ford Super Duty truck with the amazing 7.3L IDI diesel engine, produced from 1988-1993. 1994 - 2003 The First Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel —The Legendary 7.3L. In 1994, the 7.3L was reborn. This groundbreaking new powerplant revolutionized the diesel truck industry, with not just the addition of an all-new turbocharger, Direct Injection (DI), and incredible new power, but the birth of the Power Stroke® name. 7.3L features included a waste-gated turbocharger, HUEI fuel injectors and an air-to-air intercooler. The 7.3L engines were an instant hit in the trucking world. Production ran non-stop through early 2003. By that time, this engine's performance and durability had made the Power Stroke® name a legend among truckers. Diesel Power Magazine ranked the 7.3L one of the top ten diesel engines ever produced. Today, over two million 7.3L engine-equipped Ford Trucks are still in operation – more than Chevrolet, GMC, and Dodge diesels, combined. During its 9 year production run, the 7.3L was widely acknowledged as a leader in diesel engine technology. 2003 - 2007 A New 6.0L Power Stroke® Clears The Air. In 2003, the next-generation 6.0L Power Stroke® introduced Ford Truck customers to a new engine with more power and lower emissions than the 7.3L. With its variable geometry turbocharger technology, exhaust gas recirculation system and advanced, second-generation fuel injection system, the new 6.0L was a groundbreaking engineering breakthrough. The result was a major increase in horsepower and torque (325 HP and 570 lb-ft), even with a drastic reduction in engine displacement. This was the first engine design driven by emissions requirements. 2007 - 2010 Clean, Quiet And In Command — The 6.4L Arrives. The Power Stroke® legend reached new heights in 2007, with the launch of a new 6.4L diesel. This engine's cutting-edge technology and reduced emissions pumped out an amazing 350 HP @ 3000 RPM with a peak torque output of 650 lb-ft at just 2000 RPM. Developed through more than 10 million miles of torturous durability testing, the 6.4L proved to be the quietest and cleanest Power Stroke® engine to date. Its twin turbochargers and high-pressure, common-rail fuel injection with piezoelectric fuel injectors also helped Ford Super Duty trucks meet the stringent 2007 diesel emissions requirements. 2011 The New, 2011 6.7L Power Stroke® Engine Arrives. Ford Power Stroke® diesel engine technology has come a long way over the last three decades, but the party is far from over. For the 2011 model year, Ford is introducing an all-new, built-from-scratch, state-of-the-art 6.7L Power Stroke® diesel – and it's the most advanced diesel Ford has ever built. Lighter, more powerful and more fuel efficient (as well as B20 fuel compatible), this engine, built in Ford's Chihuahua, Mexico engine plant, takes diesel engineering to an entirely new level. New features include "Instant Start" glow plugs for quicker starts in even the coldest weather; a new, lightweight compacted graphite iron engine block (160 lbs lighter than the current 6.4L); aluminum cylinder heads (a Power Stroke® first); and piston-cooling jets for longer engine life. Here we simply love working on the Ford Power Stroke® diesel and have a great reputation for getting results because we do have the right tools, training, and parts. Trust the team who knows their diesel engines!

DURAMAX DIESEL REPAIRS
DURAMAX DIESEL REPAIRS

ou need the right tools, the right technicians and the right shop to get you in and out on budget every time your diesel is down for maintenance or for a big job. These engines are known for their power and as with all engines some have had issues but our team know what those issues are and have the experience to fix them. We work on a wide range of diesel engines here and they come in all sizes as well as all ages. We believe we have seen everything and we know that our experience and commitment to quality work and providing you with a solution that we ourselves would want from a diesel repair shop is what sets us apart. We also believe having the training, right diagnostic tools, OEM parts, and the fact we know our diesel history helps as well. Here is a little information on the Duramax Diesel Engine and some history for you. ABOUT DURAMAX The General Motors Duramax Diesel Engine family is for light to medium duty trucks. The 6.6-liter Duramax Engines are produced by DMAX, a joint venture between GM and Isuzu in Moraine, Ohio. The Duramax Engine was released in late 2001 into the Chevrolet and GMC chassis vehicles. The Duramax Engine was replacing the old 6.5-L Detroit built engine which was a big jump forward in technology. GM was the first of the manufacturers to make this jump and gave GM an added advantage in the diesel truck market. The Duramax Engine utilized the new Bosch Common Rail Fuel system. The early fuel systems included an ECM (Engine Control Module), CP3 Injection pump, FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module), and injectors all of which we are familiar with and work on. The later version fuel system did away with the FICM and utilize a CP4 injection pump. The Duramax Engine had some issues that appeared not too long after initial release. GM extended the warranty on the injectors to 200,000 miles due to failures that were widespread. Changing the injectors on the LB7 Duramax Engines was a little time consuming since they were located under the valve cover. Air bubbles in the fuel lines turned out to be the cause for the premature failure of the injectors. When these air bubbles were present in the fuel line they accumulated in the CP3 pump. When the injector went to fire the bubble would get between the injector plunger and the injector tip. With the bubble there the injector plunger has no fluid damping when it comes into contact with the injector tip causing a small gap to form over time. Once that gap grows large enough fuel is allowed to flow through continuously since the rail is pressurized so high. The computer system was unable to determine if this is happening so the check engine light would not notified the driver. The only way to determine if this was happening was to measure the return fuel flow rate. Our team of diesel repair mechanics is very aware of how tough the Duramax diesel engine is as well as the things to look for when you are having issues with the engine so that we can provide an accurate diagnostic for you and get you out of the shop quickly which saves you money. It is all about knowing your engines, and our team knows Duramax Diesel Engines! Visit our shop today.

WE TAKE TIRE SAFETY SERIOUSLY - TEST YOURS In an attempt to boost performance, tire manufacturers analyze the capabilities of their tires under a variety of road conditions and speeds to ensure the safety and durability of their tires. These tests are conducted on all factory-made tires whether they are intended for rain, snow, off-road, performance or fuel conservation. Among the many tests done on new tires is stopping distance. Stopping distance is the span of road that it takes for a vehicle to come to a complete stop. Several factors determine the stopping distance of a tire. These include the materials and construction of the tire, its tread patterns and the vehicle on which it's mounted. That's why it is so important to choose the right tire for your car, van or truck. Fortunately we can help you determine which tires are best suited for your vehicle, and your day to day driving demands. A simple way to determine whether you need tires is the quarter test. Insert a quarter upside down into your tire's tread. If the tread of your tire does not touch George Washington's head, it's time to have your tires replaced. KEYS TO T.I.R.E SAFETY It takes 5 minutes every month to properly check your tires (including the spare) to ensure the safety of your family and friends. Tread Depth & Wear: A simple way to determine whether you need tires is the quarter test. Insert a quarter upside down into your tire's tread. If the tread of your tire does not touch George Washington's head, it's time to have your tires replaced. 5/32" or greater depth - Your tires are in good condition and do not need to be replaced.4/32" Depth: Your tires should be monitored and you may notice a decline in wet weather performance. 3/32" Depth: Monitor your tires closely and replace them soon to ensure your vehicle is road ready, safe, and dependable. 2/32" Depth or less: You need tires now. Driving is unsafe with tires in this condition and should be replaced right away. Inflation: Check the air pressure monthly and before taking any long trips. Poor inflation can cause premature wear, increased fuel consumption and tire failure. Rotation: Your tires should be rotated every 3,000-5,000 miles. When done consistently, this helps maintain proper traction and gives you the maximum tread life. Eye Check Daily: Inspect your tires daily for penetrations, bulges, cracks, and abnormal wear. Don't forget to check the tire edges for damage caused by misalignment or under-inflation. Talk to our team about the best tires for your road safety!

JASPER Gas Engines

When we as consumers decide to purchase a product – at least one of significant importance – our decision generally falls into the realm of value. We want to know that we are getting our expected return for the money we spend. There are times, though, that we focus too much on price, even on small purchases, only to find that the product does not perform to our expectations. We are either unhappy with our purchase, or we wind up spending more of our hard-earned money to buy what we really needed – or wanted - in the first place. A strong case for a purchase decision based on value can be made when considering a major vehicle repair such as an engine replacement. After all, this is the vehicle that your family or business depends on to carry out a variety of day to day activities. Your car, truck, van or SUV ranks right up there on the list of things for which you do not want to experience an early failure. When you purchase a JASPER reman engine, you’ve made a decision based on value. JASPER engines are remanufactured to the highest quality standards in the industry and tested or thoroughly inspected to be sure that they will perform to your expectations which your family or business can depend – and that means a lot for your peace of mind. 3 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY JASPER can offer this beefy warranty on our remanufactured gas engines because every one of them goes through our extensive "Do It Right" process that ensures worry-free operation. Every JASPER reman gas engine is completely disassembled. Blocks, heads, connecting rods, crankshafts and camshafts are thoroughly cleaned through a variety of processes to remove contaminants that can result in premature wear to internal engine components and early engine failure. CRANKSHAFTS are precision machined to exact tolerances with no odd size bearings or journals. Thrust surfaces (domestic engines) are micro-polished to provide precise surface finishes for smooth engine operation and reduced thrust bearing wear. Every journal is inspected and measured with critical accuracy. After machining, oil holes are chamfered to improve lubrication and every journal polished to a smooth finish for long bearing life. Crankshafts are thoroughly cleaned with special emphasis to flushing and brushing out oil passages to remove any contaminants. CAMSHAFTS are inspected for wear, dimensional accuracy and gauged for straightness. Camshaft lobes are carefully machined to correct specifications. Each shaft is Parco-Lubricated to improve lubricant adhesion, especially during break-in. Any camshaft not meeting JASPER's exact specifications is replaced. CYLINDERS are bored and honed to exact specifications. Most gas engines are torque plate honed - a process we learned from our involvement in NASCAR - that eliminates cylinder distortion after the head is bolted and torqued to the block. This process eliminates a major cause of engine blow-by. Blocks are carefully inspected for cracks and flaws through procedures such as magnetic particle inspection. Cylinder finish and size are closely monitored to industry surface finish standards as well as for accuracy and consistency. This assures smooth piston travel and engine performance. JASPER guarantees no odd size cylinders. The block to head mating surface is closely inspected and resurfaced as required to provide the correct surface finish for today's gasket materials. CONNECTING RODS are machined and gauged to within a half a thousandth for improved operation, especially in today's engines. Rods are carefully machined to avoid taper and to the standard diameter of original equipment. All rods are checked for bend and twist to assure smooth operation. HEADS are carefully inspected for cracks and flaws through procedures such as magnetic particle inspection. Every head is resurfaced to exact dimensional tolerances and the surface finish is carefully monitored for proper sealing with the block. Valve seats and guides are machined to exact specifications or replaced to assure correct valve alignment and seating and optimum engine performance. ASSEMBLY Every gas engine is precisely assembled by trained JASPER builders with attention to detail. WARRANTY: Install JASPER with confidence. Every JASPER remanufactured engine is backed by a nationwide warranty. Complete engines for passenger cars and light duty trucks receive a 3 year/100,000 mile (whichever occurs first) parts and labor warranty. (Ambulance, off-highway vehicles, package delivery, police, snow removal, taxi, tow truck, or any vehicle over 1 ton, 18 months or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.) A technical hotline (1-800-827-7455) and 24 hour 7 day emergency warranty information are also available. Talk to our team of automotive technicians today about a JASPER solution.

JASPER Transmissions

The best choice? JASPER Transmission. FASTER - EASIER - PEACE OF MINE - SAVES $$ If you didn’t intend to replace your vehicle before you experienced a transmission failure, why should you consider it now? Installing a stock replacement transmission from Jasper Engines and Transmissions will cost you considerably less than replacing your car, truck, van or SUV with a new or newer used vehicle. You likely have a level of comfort with your vehicle. You’re familiar with where all the buttons and knobs are, and you know your vehicle’s maintenance history – it’s been taken care of – something you can’t be aware of with the unknown history of a used vehicle. You purchased your present vehicle because you liked it. It has faithfully served you, your family or your business. And don’t forget about the “soft” costs that are associated with a vehicle – license, insurance and, of course, the taxes on the purchase of a new or different car, truck, van or SUV. You’ll save on all of these by keeping your present vehicle and giving it a new life with a reman transmission from JASPER. Just think, the money you save by keeping your present “ride” can be used for the other things that are important to you like saving for retirement, college expenses, that long awaited big vacation or putting more profit into your business. JASPER offers stock replacement transmissions for an extremely broad range of applications. Most of these applications are available immediately from our huge inventory at our U.S. distribution network. With a JASPER remanufactured transmission, you can be up and running again in the time it takes to have someone else go through the process of tearing down and rebuilding your transmission. WHY JASPER REMAN TRANSMISSIONS? If the transmission in your vehicle fails, you as an individual or business are faced with a very important decision as to the repair options available to you. The question of how much it will cost generally comes to mind. The more important question, though, should be, “What should I do to get the best value for the money I spend?” We, at times, focus too much on price, even if it is a small purchase, but find that the product does not meet the expectations we had for it. We become dissatisfied with our purchase and might even wind up spending more of our hard-earned money in order to get what we really needed to purchase the first time. A purchase decision based on value is especially important when considering a major vehicle repair like a transmission replacement. This is the car, truck, van or SUV that your family or business depends on to carry out its day to day activities. Your vehicle is definitely one of the things you do not want to have an early failure. When you make the decision to purchase a JASPER remanufactured transmission, you’ve made a value-based decision based. JASPER reman transmissions are built to the highest quality standards in the industry. JASPER automatic transmissions are live-run dynamometer tested to be sure that they meet and perform to your expectations in order to provide thousands of miles of reliable service. Your family or business can depend on remanufactured transmissions from JASPER for peace of mind driving.

JASPPER Differentials

JASPER remanufactures a complete line of Rear Axle Assemblies and Differentials including Dana, Chrysler, Spicer, Ford, and GM. Most popular chassis applications are available for immediate exchange. Toyota and other manufacturer's differentials are available with one day in-plant custom remanufacturing. When it comes to remanufacturing differentials and rear axle assemblies, JASPER sets the standard, adhering to the measured standards of the original equipment manufacturer. Our state-of-the-art reman processes allow us to remain firmly on the cutting edge when it comes to remanufactured differentials. Factory and distributor inventories together with a substantial stock of parts, allow us to provide overnight availability on over 500 models and ratios. Remanufactured Differentials FAQ What is the difference between a used, rebuilt and remanufactured differential? USED. Used differentials are generally removed from a junkyard vehicle and may not even receive a surface cleaning to remove outside road dirt. Used differentials are normally not disassembled, internally cleaned, or inspected. Used or junkyard components often have high mileage along with a poor history of maintenance – this can be a failure waiting to happen. Used or junkyard differentials may also come from a vehicle that was involved in an accident. In this case, the differential may have unseen damage. REBUILT. Rebuilding is the reconditioning of components by cleaning, inspecting and replacing broken or severely worn parts. Rebuilt component quality can vary widely and many rebuilt products come with only a short term warranty. REMANUFACTURED. Remanufacturing is to make as closely to new as possible. Components are carefully inspected, checked against original equipment measured specifications for correct dimensional tolerances and precisely remanufactured. Replacement parts are new or requalified to meet exacting standards and tolerances. It’s important to note that later model vehicles are very noise sensitive, so care must be taken when selecting a replacement differential for your application. Used and rebuilt differentials may not take this issue into consideration. What is the warranty on a JASPER remanufactured differential? Most applications are covered by a 3 Year/100,000 mile (whichever occurs first) nationwide warranty – parts and labor. Ambulance, automotive off-highway use, package delivery, police, snow removal, taxi, tow truck, transit bus or any vehicle over 1 ton receive a warranty of 18 Months or 100,000 Miles, whichever occurs first. What is the difference between a standard/open differential and a limited slip differential? With a standard or open differential, the differential will send power to the wheel that is experiencing the least resistance when encountering loose gravel or ice, for example. A limited slip differential, however, will transmit more power to the wheel that is not spinning. Many people use the term PosiTraction for a limited slip differential. Do you offer a remanufactured differential for my vehicle? JASPER has immediate or very fast turnaround on over 500 ratios and applications so chances are good that we have a remanufactured differential for your vehicle application. JASPER remanufactures practically any differential for cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, and for a number of foreign applications as well. 2 Wheel Drive / 4 Wheel Drive Rear Differentials Jasper Engines and Transmissions offers a complete line of full-float and semi-float rear wheel drive differentials for Dana/Spicer, Dodge, Ford, GM, RAM and even Isuzu, Mercedes, Nissan and Toyota truck applications – up to 2 tons. The thorough remanufacturing processes of JASPER assure consistent quality and reliable performance: - Housings are checked for straightness and, if necessary, are straightened with an industrial grade press. - Bearings are preloaded to OEM specifications for longer bearing life, smooth operation and proper break-in. - Loctite® is applied to bearing races to ensure maximum securement. - Remanufactured differentials are inspected for correct backlash clearance to assure proper gear lubrication for reduced noise and to avoid overheating, especially in severe-duty applications. - Tooth contact pattern is inspected and adjusted to utilize the full structure of the gear for minimum gear noise and reduced fatigue. - Bearing bores on semi-float differentials are inspected for correct dimensional tolerances. Bores can become distorted from wear and if the bearing race has spun in the bore. Bores that are found to be out of round are machined and sleeved to original dimensions. - Electric and air lockers for Jeep differentials are installed if your application is so equipped. During the remanufacturing process, JASPER has the ability to remanufacture axle ends on full-float applications up to 1 ½ tons. JASPER has a rigorous testing process and have led the industry since 1942.
