  Ham is one of the best managers I have had the pleasure of doing business with over the 30 plus years I have been renting from Enterprise. Exceptional people skills and vast knowledge of the enterprise business. In particular I admire the attention to detail he possesses. During a visit I noticed his shoes always matched with his belt. This is the trait of a man who cares about the little things most people only notice subconsciously. Every time I come to the rental office he is diligently working behind the customer service counter. He has a system where there is never a time when an enterprise customer service representative is not present and available for customer needs. This is highly unusual in my long experience with Enterprise. I rarely take the time to write such an extensive review. And the few managers I have paid that honor, have climbed the ladder all the way to an executive position within enterprise. I am not saying my experience has been without any issues however when that rare occasion comes, Ham is able to handle it with grace and compassion. He's a great guy and I'm sure will be moving up the ladder of success very soon, and will be missed but never forgotten. Ask Larry the driver who has been at that location for 8 years and you will see I am not the only one who has that career advancement trajectory for Ham the Man-eger.

  Enterprise rented us a car with almost no oil in the engine. One picture shows the warning about low oil. This just creeped us out, since we were in the middle of nowhere. The other picture shows how much oil is in the engine. It was BELOW the required minimum. So we bought a quart of the required specialty motor oil and filled the engine up. Then, we had a problem with really low air pressure in one of the tires. So we had to fill that one up also. Wouldn't you think this should have been checked before giving the car to the next renter...NOPE!! It's kind of ironic because 6 weeks before when we rented from Enterprise, the All Wheel Drive on our All Wheel Drive vehicle stopped working. So, we had to trade cars while on our trip to Mammoth. That was an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone!

  This location CAME IN CLUTCH for me late afternoon on October 1st, 2026. My budget car rental at LB Blvd fell through and I was desperately calling other nearby locations. Enterprise was the company that picked up immediately and was very empathetic and helpful to my situation. They were able to prepare a car for me within 30 minutes. The man on the phone was also very patient and repeated things for me as I was hard of hearing during that time. Location is airconditioned, clean, modern and well-organized. The whole team there had been amazing, and moved efficiently and professionally despite the long line. Upon seeing other reviews now, this makes sense as this location is popular with renters. Location also has a washroom for those in the waiting room. Just a heads-up: the wait may look long, but you’ll be served sooner than you expect. I also recommend having an Enterprise customer account — it keeps your info ready and makes support even faster. The only thing I didn't appreciate was that I couldn't drop off the car after hours, but I also did notice other car companies in Long Beach have the same policy (it might be a city thing?).

  I used to really like using this particular branch but their customer service has definitely gone downhill for me. It’s impossible to speak to a live person at this branch. They have extremely long hold times or the line gets disconnected. I rented a vehicle. I was going to drive off until I asked them to wash the vehicle. I’m glad I did because the tire had a nail in it. Now I’m in another vehicle and the ac isn’t working properly. I’ve tried numerous times to get ahold of someone and have been unsuccessful. If you are pressed for time I would advise not to use this branch. This has been a huge inconvenience to say the least.

  OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE — ENTERPRISE SIGNAL HILL I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ham at Enterprise Signal Hill! His customer service is truly outstanding, and he is the kind of employee who reminds you what exceptional customer service should look like. I had two separate rental experiences during my recent trip. My first Enterprise rental was on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and I returned the vehicle on Sunday, September 27. The location was extremely busy that Saturday, but Ham continuously checked in with me and the other customers, making sure we knew we had not been forgotten. When I returned the vehicle and brought an issue to him attention, it was handled immediately. His communication, patience, and attention to customers really stood out to me. Later, I had another rental situation with Hertz Signal Hill on Wednesday, September 30, with the vehicle scheduled to be returned on Thursday, October 1. Unfortunately, I had a very poor customer-service experience with Hertz (rated a 3.7 on Google and Enterprise a 4.4). Although that rental was significantly less expensive, the experience reminded me of how Ham had previously handled a situation I experienced with Enterprise and resolved it quickly and professionally. That positive experience with Ham is actually what led me back to Enterprise. And once again, Enterprise did not disappoint! I also accidentally lost my husband’s handicap placard, and it was found quickly. To make matters even better, Ham personally called me to let me know that I had accidentally left my credit card in the rental vehicle. That level of attentiveness and follow-through says a lot about the type of customer service he provides. Ham is professional, attentive, patient, and genuinely customer-focused. He makes customers feel heard and valued, even when the location is extremely busy. If you want great customer service, ask for Ham! He is truly an asset to Enterprise Signal Hill, and I hope management recognizes the outstanding service he provides. Thank you, Ham, for consistently demonstrating what exceptional customer service looks like!
