I brought my 2016 Toyota Tacoma to Sullivan’s for what I believed was a straightforward brake job. After their inspection (which took 3+ hours with an appointment), I was handed an estimate for over $6,000 in repairs. At one point, I honestly wondered if I should just sign the title over because apparently I needed a whole new truck.
That immediately raised some red flags, so I decided to get a second opinion from a trusted mechanic.
He replaced my front brakes and rotors and confirmed that my calipers were perfectly functional, despite Sullivan’s telling me they were inoperable and needed to be replaced—an additional repair they quoted at around $300.
I’m not claiming my truck doesn’t need maintenance, but an estimate of more than $6,000 for a vehicle that simply came in needing brakes seems excessive. It left me wondering whether the recommendation was based on what was actually necessary or on selling as much work as possible.
If you’re quoted a large repair bill here, I’d strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any work. It could save you a lot of money and give you some peace of mind.

I was there in April and paid the $220 for the full inspection. Got a bunch of work done (including on my transmission) for close to $4,000.00. I had an emergency Brahe warning going off so took it back there to get resolved. Paid another $220 for a full inspection and this inspection showed items in yellow (in a green yellow and red range they use) for items they worked on 2 months ago. That felt very shady. They then give me an estimate of close to $5,000.00. I call the shop and ask them to put my car back together so I could come pick it up. The sales person calls me back and says he will see what he can do about the price. In the 10 - 15 minutes it took me to get there the estimate was down to $4,000. This did not make me feel better. In fact it made it so I was less trusting of what they were telling me. Why wasn’t the estimate 4,000 in the first place (I still would have gotten a second opinion). I will not be back

Engine light on: tech assessment included scan test and assessment.
Service advisor and service technician reviewed findings and pictures of frayed wire to oxygen sensor and leaking of oil pan.
Oxygen sensor needed replacement and electrical wire needed repair and ,
Oil pan leak -needed replacement of pan, plug and filter.
...and tech cleaned engine (gratis )
Great customer service and team work and appreciated the in person review of problems.

This was the worst experience we have ever had in dealing with a business. When making the appointment on the phone for a wheel alignment we were told to bring our car at 1:30pm and that it should take an hour and a half to two hours for the job. We were on time and I asked again about when to pick it up but this time was around two hours but it would be hard to know until they knew how the current alignment was. I then asked to be called when it was ready. Two and hours later we still had not received a call. We returned to the office and were told the car was not yet ready but he would check on its status. Then I looked out the window and saw our car in the same parking spot we had left it. It hadn’t been touched. Outraged in having been lied to multiple times, I didn’t hold back in telling off the main man we had dealt with, who then said it was a busy day then promptly left in saying ne would check on it and never returned. The two other desk employees hung their heads and ignored be until I repeatedly demanded that my car be returned to me. There was more checking and waiting until it was finally confessed that a mechanic test driving another client’s car had also taken our car keys with him for some unknown reason. More waiting. A total waste of a half a day and no apologies. It’s hard to believe this irresponsible and incompetent business is still operating. Go anywhere else for car servicing. Nothing could be worse.
