My husband and I had an excellent experience at this Valvoline location today and wanted to make sure the entire team received recognition, especially Kalvin and Christian.
We arrived around 9:30 a.m. with two of the three bays already occupied. A staff member immediately greeted us and asked what we were coming in for. After we told him we needed an oil change, he let us know they were finishing up with the customer ahead of us and estimated it would be about five minutes. He was right, and we were brought in shortly after.
We found out toward the end of our service that the gentleman helping us with our Toyota Tundra was actually the location manager, Kalvin. During normal conversation, he picked up on our military service and applied a military discount for us without us even asking. We didn’t know Valvoline offered one, so that was an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture.
Throughout the entire service, the communication was outstanding—not only with us, but between the employees themselves. Kalvin explained our options, offered his professional recommendations regarding oil and additional maintenance services, and allowed us to make our own decisions. At no point did we feel pressured or pushed into purchasing something we didn’t want. When we declined a service or selected only the additional maintenance we wanted completed, it was simply respected and the team moved forward.
Something else that stood out was the condition and organization of the shop itself. From what we could see, everything was extremely clean, tidy, and organized. That organization clearly translated into the team’s efficiency. Employees knew where tools, supplies, and parts were located, communicated with one another, and worked together fluidly.
I also happened to overhear an interaction between Kalvin and another technician that really stood out to me from a leadership perspective. What appeared to be the supervision or observation of a newer technician was given priority over a less urgent inventory task. Rather than interrupting that oversight, Kalvin waited until someone became available and then delegated the inventory task appropriately. It was a small interaction, but it said a lot about the leadership and priorities at this location.
We also want to specifically recognize Christian. His efficiency, professionalism, and fluency with the procedures he was performing were noticeable throughout our service.
From pulling in to pulling out, we were finished in approximately an hour—and that included both our oil change and a front differential fluid replacement on our Tundra.
This was easily a 5-star experience. Although Kalvin and Christian are the names we were able to catch and interact with directly, our compliments extend to the entire crew working today. The professionalism, communication, organization, efficiency, and leadership were noticeable from beginning to end.
Thank you, Kalvin, Christian, and the rest of the team for taking such great care of us and our Tundra. This is exactly the kind of service that earns repeat customers.
