If you service your car here, check all documents for unauthorized signatures immediately. I am publicly logging the severe ethical and compliance failures occurring within the service department at VOLVO CARS OF MARIN owned by the Price family. Historical context: I originally purchased this vehicle from the Price Families Toyota location in Marin, where it immediately needed a new engine according to them. Instead of resolving the issue internally, the ownership group routed the vehicle to their Volvo location and billed my extended warranty provider over 20k for a full engine replacement, keeping warranty proceeds within the same parent company umbrella and keeping my vehicle for almost a year. Now: After waiting for months for an appointment and a loaner vehicle with new issues, I finally dropped off the vehicle on 8/18 due to subsequent overheating issue, an intermittent check engine light, faulty charging port, and an intermittent coolant error showing physically on the vehicle. I signed only a standard loaner car agreement outside by the loaner vehicle at 1:47 PM. Service Advisor Bill subsequently stated the vehicle was missing a plug/cap causing the cooling failure and pressure loss in the system leading to the overheating. He demanded $695 for the cap/plug and I let him know they were the last ones under the hood and neglected to properly reassemble the cooling assembly, leaving off a vital integrated cap/plug that is causing overheating. He assured me that they wouldn’t have touched the cooling system while adding a new engine which is mechanically impossible, asserting an objective impossibility. As well, they dropped the replacement engine onto decade-old, failing engine mount without informing me at the time of installation causing severe safety concerns. While later reviewing the portal documents, I discovered a Repair Order entered at 4:53 PM on August 18th, hours after my appointment had ended and I had left the premises, carrying a $295 financial obligation with a signature added by Service. I never saw, reviewed, or signed this document. Adding, at that exact timestamp of 4:53 PM, I was at a fully documented dental appointment. When I formally escalated the matter of the unauthorized signature and mechanical negligence, Service and Parts Director of Volvo of Marin, Chris, responded with immediate hostility and consumer intimidation through deception. He responded in writing claiming the cooling system was perfectly fine, and stated he was “struggling to understand.” He also did not address the signature. His claims are flatly exposed as an administrative cover-up by the written records and text messages sent directly from his own service advisor, BILL, explicitly detailing otherwise, and what I had been know to be true in my personal experience with the vehicle. Furthermore, CHRIS attempted to falsely assert that I chose not to work with the shop in his email in a transparent attempt to absolve the facility of diagnostic accountability and swiftly dismiss my grievances. Service Director CHRIS then called me on August 24th at 4:55 PM with an aggressive, defensive tone. Rather than addressing the signature, he dismissed my valid safety concerns and made accusations that I was merely trying to obtain “free service.” In what I believe to be apply pressure and to have me drop my VERY SERIOUS complaints. Alarmingly, I discovered that he also revoked my customer portal access immediately afterward, displaying an Access Denied page. I checked back in the evening seeing access was restored but noticed that the document with the signature added by their service department had been deleted from my file and replaced with a modified document showing a live update timestamp of August 24th at 5:01 PM and no signature. I have repeatedly contacted General Manager via phone calls and direct emails to request an internal investigation and have provided them direct evidence to support the events above.

1-Star Review – Very Disappointing Experience I had a very disappointing experience with Volvo Marin and specifically with Andrey. We contacted Andrey because we were interested in potentially trading in our vehicle and paying the remaining difference in cash toward one of their vehicles. During the conversation, Andrey requested a significant amount of personal information, including our phone number, email address, and home address. I found this unusual, especially because we had already provided the VIN for our vehicle. After repeatedly insisting that he needed our personal information, we eventually provided it. Once he had our information, however, he completely backed away from the potential deal. Andrey then told us that our vehicle was worth way less than what CARFAX indicated. He claimed that he had “expensive” technology that gave him his own valuation. He also claimed that our vehicle had been in an accident, which is not true. What was most frustrating was the way the entire situation was handled. It left us with the impression that obtaining our contact information was more important to him than actually helping us with a potential vehicle purchase. It made me question whether the main purpose of collecting all of our information was simply to receive a referral or lead fee. If you have the “expensive” technology Andrey mentioned to determine a vehicle’s value, why was all of our personal information necessary before even giving us a straightforward answer? And why collect all of that information just to turn us down in such a rude and unprofessional manner? At the end of the day, Volvo Marin lost a potential customer. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership. I expected a professional and transparent experience, but instead I felt like my information was more valuable to them than my business. One star. Very disappointing experience.

We had a truly incredible experience buying a certified preowned car with Volvo Marin. We saw a car on their inventory that we were excited about, and Kevin M reached out almost right away which was so appreciated (didn't have to wait for follow up). I work weird hours and can't speak on the phone at work, so I was so appreciative that whenever I texted with questions, Kevin got right back to me with whatever info I needed and more. No detail was missed, and he didn't spam or call me in the interim. He stayed late to accommodate my test drive, and he had the car cleaned, delivered, and a blemish repaired for me. He worked with our local credit union and helped us get the car as soon as we could with no drama or hiccups. We would absolutely buy here again to work with Kevin, and we love our new car.

Bill moskley is a horrible person to have at the forefront of your sales building, he couldn’t convince a kid to buy legos. The rudest person I’ve had the pleasure of talking to

Volvo Marin had just the Used EX30 Ultra I was looking for and sold it to me the next day at a a price I was happy about. That's what you want from a fantastic car dealership. A bit of a group effort, a cordial salesperson whose name I din't catch, immediately,, welcomed me in. Mel, a newer agent - my main contact - braved a test drive and struggled a bit with the paperwork alongside me. Trent, the Sales Director confidently answered questions throughout the process despite being very busy. And then Dan appeared to drive the car from Marin into SF, a service the dealership provides. An unexpected bonus. He communicated efficiently and gave me a succinct and knowledgeable rundown of the car's tech before catching an Uber back. I know it's a team effort, but Dan gets an extra star. Despite a four hour sales process - or maybe because of it, and the grapefruit sparkling water - I hope to be a repeat Marin Volvo customer.
