  I booked a Ford windshield replacement through their website and specifically asked for the manufacturer Ford glass. They confirmed it. Then Monday morning — the day of my appointment — they called to say they didn’t have the glass. A full day of work gone. I rescheduled for Thursday. The technician called wanting to come earlier that day, then called again right before arriving to raise the price by $250 because of their own pricing mistake. I hadn’t agreed to anything new. Then the technician showed up at my house without ringing the doorbell and just left. No knock, no explanation, nothing. Nobody on their end knew the exact job from the very beginning — that it was a Ford part, not some other glass. I had to explain that three or four times. The communication between their website booking and the shop delivering the service is broken, and their administration doesn’t communicate clearly on the paperwork either. Two days of work, five separate calls, and I had to re-explain the whole job from scratch every time. This is completely unprofessional, and I’d warn anyone in San Rafael to think twice before booking with them.

  I really appreciate all the communication, the fast response, the great work and the professionalism of the installer. Everything went smoothly and if I ever need a replacement or repair again, I will continue to reach back out to Safelite!

  Not great. Tried to use incompatible windshield, after getting approval went to shop to discover they ordered the wrong part. Said they would call Monday or Tuesday no call didn’t answer the phone for me or safelight corporate. Never again

  when I arrive for my 930 appointment, technician was working on another car, but he looked up from his work and gave me a friendly good morning. After I checked in turns out the fellow‘s name was Sam and he gave me an estimate 30 minutes and sure enough that’s exactly what happened. He met that deadline. I’m sure he was being humble when he said the chipped window repair would be about 80% effective, but darned if I could see that former ship at all. At the end instead of having to wait in line at the office to pay, he invited me outside and we handled the transaction with our phones, and I was finished in no time. Way to go, Sam!

  One of the worst customer experiences. I scheduled an appointment with them at 9:30am with an expected service time of 2-3 hours for a pre-paid windshield replacement. After 5 hours with zero update, I finally reached a Safelite customer representative who said it is expected to be another 1-1.5hours. How does the work take 2-3x the expected service time? I now need to rent a car to be able to pickup my kids from school. I have lodged a complaint with my insurance company telling them to drop Safelite as a preferred vendor. I would not recommend anyone use this company.
