  This guy is a burnout. Attitude when walked in. Asked him why he is angry all the time. Not sure if he realizes that there are dozens of local smog places within the city limits. So here goes. There are quite a few smog shops all within a 3 minute drive. So that means the we have choices, ok? Skip this guy and patronize someone who is thankful for your business.

  I found out the hard way why Dave’s smog shop is always empty, has the lowest prices, and relies on coupons just to bring customers in. He ignored my questions before the smog inspection, and I had to watch him lean and drag himself across different parts of my black car, leaving scratches in the paint. After all of that, he simply said, “Your car is not ready, pay me.” When I asked him to explain what he meant by “not ready,” his response was: “If you were cool, I’d explain it to you.” and "Drive the car around and come back" On top of that, he seems to look for excuses to charge customers for anything he possibly can. Completely unprofessional experience from start to finish. Why bother with this location and risk getting ripped off from his many excuses. Tons of other honest smog shops that would actually want your business.

  As others have mentioned, Dave is kind of a jerk. But, he had me in and out in under 15 minutes while all the other shops were backed up with hour long waits. So, to make sure you have an equally 4 star experience, here are some tips: Show him the coupon when you arrive. it's on their website. $45 total compared to $80 without. Make sure your car is ready to be smogged. if your check engine light is on, you need to get that fixed first. If you just changed your battery, your car likely reset its systems and you need to go drive it for 50-100 miles. If your car isn't ready to be smogged given any of the above, you will still get charged. You can get a cheap obd scanner that plugs into your car to see if your car is ready to be smogged, but assuming its in good running order, no check engine light, and no major work done recently you should be fine.
