This is my 8th rental with Sixt (I think!), and I just realized one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is the amazing staff. Every person I’ve worked with has been genuinely friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. This time, Kian made the experience especially wonderful. Thank you for your help, your kindness, and your all-around positive energy and great vibes. It sure makes a difference, and it’s what keeps customers like me returning <3
We were welcomed very nicely and kindly upon our arrival, which immediately made us feel comfortable and valued. We received a super good offer that was hard to resist, and we ended up choosing a GMC Yukon 😍. This vehicle perfectly suited our needs and added to the excitement of our trip. We really like Sixt and have consistently used their services all around the world. Their excellent service and customer support never fail to impress us, making every rental experience smooth and enjoyable.
During this visit, we were helped by Danielle; she was incredibly helpful, attentive, and professional throughout the entire process. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist made a significant difference, ensuring that all our questions were answered and that we felt confident in our choice. We truly appreciate the outstanding service provided by Danielle and the entire Sixt team.

The people were nice. Everyone was cordial, professional. I'll give them that. Even while they were telling me that the BMW I rented on-line was not available, and that all they had was a Toyota Prius, they were nice.
The problem was the e-mail I received about a week after the rental saying that I owed $912 for damages. Here was the exact language:
"Your rental vehicle was inspected for any changes both at the time of pick-up and return using AI-based vehicle inspection
technology from ProovStation."
"A vehicle-sized scanner performs an AI-assisted, automated inspection of the vehicle. This industrial-grade scanner is
equipped with built-in sensors, cameras, and a lighting system that enables a 360º view of the vehicle."
" During the inspection process, high-resolution 4K images of the vehicle are automatically captured. Using these images, the
AI system detects the type, location, and severity of any damage."
"The damage documented upon return was compared with the condition of the vehicle at the time of pick-up. In addition, a
manual review and verification of the images is carried out as part of the damage assessment and documentation process."
"We look forward to receiving your payment of 912.13 USD by 04-24-2026." (this last line cracked me up. yes, I bet they do look forward to that payment!).
Wow! Sounds impressive, right?

I mean, I must have scratched up the car with all this "science".
I called the company and was eventually transferred to a very nice woman in their "damaged claims department", who told me that the A.I. system is still in its early stages and can complicate things. Apparently, A.I. mistook part of the car as a scratch, or something like that, and she dismissed the claim.
I would echo what many other reviewers have said: be very careful, take videos and pictures of the car both before and after, do not pay any damage claims without contacting the company first. Also, don't expect to get the car you chose when making reservations through their website. But everyone was nice.

Im a Diamond Client from Sixt and you honestly get treated like the last criminal. 1h to pick up the car and go through each single little scratch on the car to really report ever little damage they forgot to report in their app including pictures and exact description.
After we gave back the car the sixt guy literally went again through each scratch with a ruler to make sure he can find additional ones. Took him another 45 minutes. It so unbelievable annoying. Any other car rental service is better in this process. Sixt, I’m super disappointed from you guys.
Do NOT ever use this rental location. I would put a zero if I could. I returned the car in the same condition. In fact, the return department sent me a file confirming it was in perfect condition. Then, a few days later, they sent me an email, filed a claim for damage I didn't cause, and forced me to pay for it, even after I had already sent a video of the rental condition. I normally rented from the Sixt down on South Van Ness and had a very good experience. They didn't have availability this time, so I tried this location. After this experience, I am not sure I will ever rent from Sixt again.
