  Great service from online booking to car pick up to drop off and checking out. Top notch!! But beware of refueling charge - we were rushed and couldn’t get to gas station so they charged us $9 a gallon!! Pretty crazy pricing even when selling for $5 and change everywhere in SF!! It doesn’t cost that much labor to fill up a half a tank of gas!! Maybe you like to hose over all the corporate renters but there are plenty of personal renters too! It really soured the whole experience at the finish line!!

  This was our first time renting a vehicle from National. We were very satisfied with the vehicle and the service provided by the staff at the rental facility in San Francisco Airport. The desk agent, Valrie, was very friendly and helpful. She explained the options available to us and answered all our questions without rushing us. When we returned the car, we were greeted by Meryann who also was very friendly and helpful in getting us on the way to our flight. All in all, this was a very pleasant rental experience and we expect to return to National the next time we are in need of a rental car.

  1 Star Very disappointing experience with National Car Rental via Priceline. Before I even picked up the vehicle, the representative strongly encouraged me to purchase the prepaid fuel option, claiming that gas prices outside the airport would be very expensive. Based on that information, I agreed. I was later charged $94 (Around $9 USD per gallon) for fuel on a Mazda CX-50, only to find that gas stations nearby were charging around $5.50 per gallon. Had I been given accurate information, I would never have purchased the prepaid fuel option. I felt misled into paying significantly more than necessary. The experience was made worse by the front desk employee, who was impolite and unprofessional. Customer service should be honest, respectful, and focused on helping customers make informed decisions. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling taken advantage of, and I will seriously consider other rental companies for future trips.

  I usually use national whenever I come to SFO, but this time my flight was delayed 4 hours. By the time I got there and in the car to drive to the exit gate it was after 12:00 am and there was not a single employee on site. What's funny is they had told people on my flight this would not be an issue and we would still be able to get our cars. This made an already bad day much worse. What's funny is I normally swear by national.

  I had a very pleasant experience with National Car Rental. First of all, I really enjoyed driving a brand new Honda Accord. The inside and outside were clean and new, which made my vacation extra comfortable and convenient. Most of all, I really appreciate and touch by customer service. I had a very smooth start by picking up the vehicle from San Francisco Airport. The gentleman who helped me pick out the vehicle was very helpful. I believe his name is Lynn. (Hopefully I am not wrong with the name) He kindly explained about each vehicle and helped me choose which one can be more convenient for me. That was so sweet and helpful! Afterwards, when I was returning my car to LAX I was even more impressed by the customer service. I clearly made a mistake when I was signing up for the rental car. Since I misunderstood the explanation. That's when my Hero Oscar came for a rescue! He politely explained what I did wrong and he took care of me. Even though it was my mistake he totally understood the situation he even calmed me down and guided me on what I have to look for in the future. That was very helpful advice for me. From that moment, it was clear to me I must reserve all my future rental cars with National! Thank you so much for all your help!
