Paid for overnight parking at this location and got a good rate on spot hero. Scanned in to enter, when leaving the gate malfunctioned and the call help button on the machine was not working. Asked the attendant to lift the gate he said that there was no possible way for him to do it manually. I asked if there was someone he could call, he said “he’s on vacation”. The attendant kept telling us we had to pay more money or there was no way out. There was a line forming so we looped back around. I called Spot Hero and they sent me a new code, I scanned in (out of the car) and then tried to scan out again and it still wouldn’t work. We (the other young lady i was with) pressed the call help button again on the machine, and finally it connected with terrible volume. We were asking LAZ parking to please let us out as it has now been 30 minutes, and they could not open the gate. At this point the attendant in the garage hears the line of cars behind us honking- gets off his personal phone in the office, pulls out a key card and manually lets us out. If you’re thinking, didn’t you ask for that multiple times? Yes, I did. Did he lie? Yes, he wanted us to pay more money for parking we had already purchased. Me and the other young woman I was with felt like we were being held hostage, and it is incredibly frustrating that all of this could have been avoided. LAZ parking tried to send me a $30 nift gift card… so if you want to park here the price is $1/minute you are not allowed to leave with a rude man telling you to pay more money. Just unacceptable as a business. Edit- Tried to call the number they left in their response and got sent to voicemail. I tried to look for their customer service team online before posting this and couldn’t find it either.

Cheaper than many other parking options and mobile entry and exit is useful. The ticket scanner is too far from your car on entry and exit which makes it difficult to get in and out

The elevator goes directly to IKEA and they validate parking.

Safe and secure, below IKEA. Generally have had great experiences, 95% of the time. Recently though, after I paid and was exiting, the gate malfunctioned. So I called the support button. Rather than offering an apology, I was first asked for my full name, then my phone number. It felt like a shakedown. Due to ambient music playing from a ceiling, and a very small speaker with small tinny volume for projecting the support person’s voice, I could barely hear them. It took about 10-15 minutes to finally leave. I felt as if I was being held hostage and having personal information extracted from me in order to leave. The management should improve their gate functioning, and automate these processes based on license plates, rather than performing invasive inquiry procedures, holding the gate closed and holding paying customers while extracting personal information from them as a condition for leaving the building. I hope they read this and fix their procedures.

Terribly run garage. Terribly run food hall. Terrible ikea. These folks thought they could come into SF and not embrace anything about SF and unsurprisingly failed.
