  We had an extremely disappointing experience with the Alamo location on Fisherman’s Wharf/Beach Street. We went there because the rental car had a problem with the radiator coolant: the coolant level was completely below the minimum, and we had also noticed a leak. We were concerned that continuing to drive the vehicle was unsafe, so we went directly to the Alamo location to ask for help and, if possible, to change the car. Instead of trying to assist us, the lady at the desk repeatedly told us that she could not do anything and that we would have to wait approximately six hours for a tow truck. She then told us that, if we wanted to change the vehicle, we could simply drive to the airport — despite us clearly explaining that we did not consider it safe to drive the car with the coolant level completely below the minimum. What made the experience even worse was her attitude. When we tried to explain what had happened and why we were concerned, she became increasingly rude and dismissive. We were understandably frustrated by the amount of time we were losing because of a problem with a rental car, and at one point she actually told us to “be quiet” instead of trying to address our concerns professionally. A car safety issue should be taken seriously, and customers should not be made to feel like they are being a nuisance for asking for assistance. We expected to be provided with a reasonable solution, but instead we were met with an extremely unhelpful and disrespectful attitude. Absolutely avoid this location if you encounter any problem with your rental car. The customer service we received was unacceptable.

  Drove from SFO to LA and then to San Diego with only a minor inconvenience. Picked up a nail and had the tire repaired. Explained the issue at drop off and the team covered the cost of the tire repair. Car was clean and comfortable. And quite affordable for dropping off in a different location. Everyone was professional and helpful.

  Only dealt with dropping off at this location after getting a flat tire and driving on the spare. However, the employees were extremely helpful and kind. Great experience!
