  Having had a previous bad experience with a local Hyundai dealer for our 2009 Sonata, we decided to try West Automotive on Miramar Road. I had heard about them from their Saturday morning car repair show on AM radio. When our Hyundai's Engine malfunction indicator light lit up and stayed on, we needed to find out the problem. Brandon and the team found an intake manifold problem with carbon buildup, seizing of the control valves and a faulty intake manifold runner control actuator. They recommended a complete manifold replacement. In their vehicle inspection they also noted the shocks and struts were original, so almost 18 years old and recommended replacement (normally at 80,000 miles or 10 years -- so we were way behind the normal maintenance. They also noted several small maintenance issues so performed oil change, steering wheel fluid change, fuel induction cleaning from carbon and gum deposits, A/C core and vent cleaning and internal cabin filter replacement. Everything was able to be fixed within one day -- despite being advised that I would probably have to leave the car over the weekend to finish on Monday. Getting the service appointment was very easy on their online appointment system. I got an 8:00 am Friday morning appointment (the next morning). After vehicle diagnostics Brandon was great at explaining everything -- what was wrong, and what we could do to keep this vehicle in top shape. After repairs, he carefully showed us the old manifold, shocks, and struts explaining why replacement was advised. He told us our car was otherwise in great shape and should last another 50-100 K miles and perhaps another 10 years (we only had 110 K miles on it.) If it had 200 K miles on it, he would not have recommended the service, but invest in a new vehicle. Brandon was very professional and honest with us. With the strut and shock replacement (with realignment afterwards), we noted the car felt much more stable on the road. He gave us a military/AAA discount on the service, and informed us of their 2-year warranty on parts and labor. Having had our car serviced here, we would be automatically notified of recommended maintenance, i.e., oil changes etc. I look forward to seeing if our fuel economy will improve with the new manifold and fuel induction cleaning. I'll be bringing my vehicles back here in the future for regular service.

  Están lejos de parecerse a una agencia, muy mal servicio, son muy irresponsables, no firmas nada cuando se quedan con tu vehículo, no lo revisan, nada de nada, sí lo reparan, pero.l no tienes un comprobante de que lo dejaste, nomás un papelito con un número de folio o algo así. O sea que tal vez cualquiera puede recogerlo... No les daría ninguna estrella, tengo que dar una sino no se publica mí opinión...

  Friendly and very helpful. My car broke down on the way to the airport and I was in a tight spot. My car was towed there. They were helpful and understanding. Very thankful for their service.

  I brought my wife’s car to West Miramar Automotive & Transmission late last year, and they recommended several repairs. What I appreciated most was how helpful and honest they were in explaining what needed to be done immediately and what could wait. When I followed up recently to complete the remaining work, they still had everything on record and ready to go. Brandon helped me this time, and he was great. I brought the car back in, and they took care of the struts right away. I also appreciated the small AAA discount and the shuttle service, which saved me from having to take an Uber. No one likes spending money on car repairs, but when you trust the people to be honest, thoughtful, and professional, it makes a big difference. Great job by Brandon and the team at West Miramar Automotive & Transmission.
