I had an outstanding experience at West automotive.… The service manager was tremendous and extremely efficient. I was out of town and he took the extra time to make sure my car was fixed properly and I was back on the road within an hour. It was closing time and he did everything he could to make sure he finished before closing. I will forever be grateful for the quality service and professionalism. Thank you!

Although we've been to West Miramar Automotive before and had fairly positive experiences, this last time was not so great. I needed a starter for my car and they wanted to charge $1200 for what was a pretty simple fix. My husband knows about cars and could have done the job himself if he wasn't so busy at work. We took the car somewhere else who charged half as much. A place highly recommended by people in my neighborhood. Additionally, West Miramar Automotive tried to pressure me and tell me they were using a new part for the fix, which wasn't true. Only reconditioned parts are available. Then they charged me what I think it's a rather exorbitant diagnostic fee. We don't plan to go to them anymore.

This shop mislead my husband and I and charged us $165 for diagnostic work they should have covered. We took our car in after the check engine light went on and the error code P0303 indicated a misfire in the 3rd cylinder. We showed them the P0303 Veriscan error code print-off when we arrived for the diagnostic. After their diagnostic, the shop told us to replace the spark plugs and we paid $833 for the diagnostic and replaced spark plugs. A 6 weeks later, the check engine light came on with the same exact error code P0303. We took it back to the shop, and they found a coolant leak in the 3rd cylinder that they had missed during the first diagnostic. They made us pay for another diagnostic, despite the fact that the same exact error code came up. They should have found the leak the first time rather than telling us to replace the spark plugs. Now we spent $1000 with them and could have used that money towards the repair our car actually needed. Other customers should be aware that this shop is not thorough and that they won't take responsibility for their diagnostic work.
