  I recently purchased a beautiful Columbia 36Mk II as a first time owner. This purchase to me was the culmination of a dream, the reward of devoting many years of devotion and sacrifice as a US Marine. I made inquiries to 4 repair companies in the area, Janie at Pacific Coast Rigging was the only thoughtful reply. I spoke with Jamey over the phone, after listening to my description he spent a few minutes explaining that the typical repair for an older boat like mine could be quite costly. As my boat is almost 50 years old, I was anticipating that possibility, and even (foolishly I thought in the immediate aftermath) tipped my hand by telling him I had about $4000 set aside for that repair alone. Kasey came out to inspect my problem and told me that it was actually much better than he expected, and told me unless she had any hidden issues should be only a couple hours to repair. We scheduled for a return visit to do the work a week later. As I still live in Phoenix this would require another commute to San Diego. The following day Pacific Coast Rigging called me back, and said sinceto save me a trip they made some schedule adjustments and wanted to know if they could come out that afternoon. Needless to say, I was elated. The final outcome? I ended up paying 5% of what my anticipated cost was, even tho they knew I had much more to spend and was an inexperienced sailor who could easily been overcharged for service. When I went topside after the repair was complete, ALL of my rigging had been properly secured and stowed, which is not how it was found. Satisfied is a woefully inadequate term to describe my opinion.

  Nice place but the markup on products is to be expected because they do have a brick and mortar shop. Case in point is the item pictured, costs $60 there but you can buy it online for about $30.

  Extremely helpful good people running this rigging shop in San Diego. Casey was sincerely dedicated to helping me get the job done right the first time. He took extra time to educate me on the process and even lent me the tools for the job that had to be completed on the boat. If you have not stopped by Pacific Offshore Rigging in San Diego I highly recommend that you do and meet the genuine people who are there to help make your rigging work easy and get you back out on the water. I'm very grateful to have them as a resource.
