  **Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a reservation made months in advance for an important family event.** I booked a full size SUV months ago specifically to move our son to college. We had **8 large suitcases plus several smaller boxes**, so vehicle size was not a preference. It was the entire reason for the reservation. The day before pickup, Josh called and told me there might be a delay because the full size SUV they were expecting was returned to a different location. I made it very clear that a smaller vehicle would not work and that we absolutely needed the full size SUV the next day because of the importance and timing of our son's college move. Despite that conversation, the next day Josh called and told me they still did not have a full size SUV and offered me a crossover instead. We already own a crossover. If a crossover could handle what we needed, I would never have rented a vehicle in the first place. What made the experience much worse was how the situation was handled after that. I was told they had contacted other locations but could not find a vehicle. I personally checked and found a full size SUV available at the Enterprise airport location. I gave them that information and asked them to help secure that vehicle for me. Instead of taking ownership of the situation and finding a solution, I felt like I was left waiting until I had no choice but to solve the problem myself. Eventually, because we were running out of time, I had to take an Uber to the airport Enterprise location and rent the SUV myself. A reservation that was originally around **$500 ended up costing me approximately $1,100**, in addition to Uber expenses and the time and stress of dealing with this on the day we were moving our son to college. I understand that unexpected vehicle availability issues can happen. What I cannot accept is the lack of ownership and urgency in resolving a problem after a customer made a reservation months in advance, clearly communicated how critical the vehicle was, and even identified an available vehicle at another Enterprise location. A company like Enterprise should have processes to handle exactly this kind of situation. I should not have had to locate the vehicle, arrange my own transportation to another Enterprise branch, and pay more than double my original reservation price because this location could not fulfill the reservation. I will be escalating this experience to Enterprise corporate and asking them to address the significant additional cost and inconvenience this caused.

  I'm definitely coming back to this location next time! The manager this morning told GREAT care of me despite an unexpected flat tire situation and a force vehicle downgrade during my trip-- THANK YOU!!

  Unfortunately I had a bad experience today. Story time... It is my birthday. I wanted a specific car for a birthday road trip. I called the office directly. Or thought I did. The entity taking the reservation promised a jetta. Said it was their standard. I said I'd pick up at 4:30. I arrived at 4:30. I waited 30 min. The car is ready and it's a Carola. The gents at the sales desk apologized. No hard feelings to them. I look it over and give it a try. But at the end of 15 odd minutes it's not what I wanted. No point driving something you don't like for a week. It wasnt a nesecciry rental. I took it back. Asked for an upgrade. They said they had nothing to offer. It was near closing 5:50. So understandable. I asked for a reciept of return. They told me they would take care of it for me. Not to worry. And would email it. No email yet... 🤔 I'm not swearing off enterprise. But if you want a specific car don't trust their phone system. And I'm surprised they couldn't give me an upgrade. Probably cause it was late? My wife rented from the Clairemont store not too long ago and they happily and easily swapped cars. And I had a corporate code and they told me if reserved over the phone I couldn't use it... 🙃. ToO LAtE! So sorry... 🤔 Good times. It was just a bad day all around and upsetting since itnall started woth the phone voice whonpromised me one thing and i was presented with another. This set my trip back a bit. Going to avis at sd international Airport instead. More options wizard number better deal... just a hastle.to get too. Sigh. Sorry for the long review.
